Sign up for the Army, that should get you out of it.
I would rather move to CANADA!
plus my sisters in the army, only one per household.

Easiest thing to do: ignore it.
The summons tries to scare you but they can't prove you got it. People move all the time. Mail gets lost all the time.
Don't write an excuse because they won't excuse anyone anymore. If you write an excuse, that's proof that you received the summons. So, don't fall for it. It's like junk mail, if you reply, you're screwed.
The people who "do their civic duties" tend to be retirees or unemployed or simple minded people. Other people have more important things to do than make a judge's (aka politician-lawyer, aka power hungry professional liar) life easier. Remember, a judge and police officer and lawyer GET paid big bucks to be in court, You Don't!

Depends, when I was in New Orleans, I just called the number on the notice, gave them juror number on the card they sent me, said "I'm a student" and they said OK, don't show up. The end.Originally posted by: Fullmetal Chocobo
you can line up with the rest of the people to tell them why you can't be there for your duty... Being in college, they will likely excuse you, but you still have to show up in the first place.
However, now that I live in NYC, there is no way to call them. You can mail back your response (I had to do this the other day since they sent me another notice 2 months after I served :rollto which you never get a response
roll::roll
, but there is no way to talk to a real live person.
