I got one & my MIL got one. She got sick of using it & got the enlarging surgery as a "permanent fix"...didn't help at all & had to go back on the machine! And unfortunately my machine wasn't covered under insurance ($$$$) so I have to shell out for everything myself. On the flip side, I was tired my whole freaking life & now I'm not, so that little machine is literally a miracle in my life. But yeah, I'm on a lifetime subscription plan, doesn't matter how good of shape I stay in, it's just genetic & I'll always have to be on it :p

Try a good quality high concentrate CBD oil. I couldn't use the machine as I'm a side sleeper and just kept knocking or taking it off in my sleep. I take a nice big full dropper, sometimes two full droppers, of the highest concentrate CBD oil from Charlotte's Web or NuLeaf before bedtime and I sleep much better. My ex fiancee said the difference of my snoring when I took the CBD or didn't was huge. Without, sounded like I was struggling to breathe and choking in my sleep. With the CBD, sounded like a regular light to medium snorer.

I had read about CBD helping with apnea just there have not been enough studies due to the restrictions on anything cannabis related due to our backwards ass government regulations. Anyways, it worked for me. Give it a shot.

There is not as much profit in a cure, though. One shot, and you've lost them as a future customer. If you create a vaccine that only last six months, though, you have a recurring revenue model for years!
With oil changes on the way out, a new routine is borne to replacement. COVID Vaccines bi-annually! And unlike the flu, many people will actually need them.

Fake tough guys dying or suffering makes me happy. Delusion irks me very much.

They have a big "Unmask our kids" billboard right off the highway here in Hartford. 94,000 American kids got COVID at the beginning of the month:

Fortunately, severe illness, hospitalization and death are rare among kids according to that article, but it seems kind of bonkers to me to not take preventative safety measures, at least based on the data:

Texas alone has had over 20,000 cases in school kids since the beginning of the month:

Which is causing issues, because it's transferrable to adults & seniors, and also because so many hospitals are maxed out bed-wise that people are dying of other stuff because they can't get in:

Do masks really work? I mean, recently they told us to wear two masks, and then we lifted the mandate, and now we're back to the mandate...personally I'd rather be safe than sorry, as I tend to err towards caution!

Interesting, does it relax your throat or something?

I have no idea and the little bit of info I found about it online basically had no idea either, just that there had been reports of a good correlation between CBD and mitigating apnea symptoms, but the restrictions on studying cannabis products had precluded any real in depth studies of CBD taken for Apnea. I have no idea what the efficacy rate of it is, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Charlotte's Web is supposedly the best CBD oil but it's very pricey. The 100ml bottle of the highest concentrate is close to $300, but they often send out 30% coupons if you are on their email list. So I buy it when I see those. Otherwise NuLeaf seems to be a really good brand as well. Either way, it's worth it to try for a couple weeks. Your SO will definitely tell you if there is a difference.

Wow that is pricy, how much do you take each night? I assume 1 dropper = 1 mL?

Yes 1 dropper is 1ml. So for around $190 I get 100 nights of treatment. Maybe some people don't need the highest concentration level either, that would make it cheaper.

New COVID variant detected in South Africa, most mutated variant so far

The C.1.2 variant first detected in South Africa is more mutated compared to the original virus than any other known variant.

A new coronavirus variant, C.1.2, has been detected in South Africa and a number of other countries, with concerns that it could be more infectious and evade vaccines, according to a new preprint study by South Africa's National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the KwaZulu-Natal Research Innovation and Sequencing Platform. The study is awaiting peer review.

Well, the entirety of Africa is essentially unvaccinated. Who cares about them when the first world cannot afford to lose the financial system that supports their first world lives. https://www.google.com/search?q=sou...Ewjg45zd9NjyAhXVMlkFHQvYDTI4ChDh1QMIDw&uact=5

5.9 million fully vaccinated. 11.9 million does given. 10% of the populace. LET IT REPLICATE.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the government doesn't mind a few kills to balance the budget and reduce the population there.

That seems to be the real problem, as the virus is mutating in places like Africa and India where almost everyone is unvaccinated.

I continue to be less-than-impressed by the WHO's performance on COVID. Yet another flip-flop.

They seem to love making definitive-sounding statements when they don't really have strong evidence to support them, hence they end up contradicting themselves from one week to the next. They've been doing that throughout the pandemic.

(My personal experience is that this is a general trait of the medical profession. They are not good at being honest about acknowledging uncertainty or doubt...in fact I think it's a trait of all the 'professions'...and I suspect it has a lot to do with the existence of the class system - professional people feel they have to protect their class status above all)

Mainly because brainless idiots don't trust people who cannot speak with confidence toward a situation. There's a reason your airline gets delayed 15 minutes at a time, 7 times in a row, rather than just saying 'nothing for some time in the future'.

Maybe something in that. Still feel overconfidence becomes counter-productive after a while.

As it happens that's also how my GP surgery does it - they have a sign saying "Dr so-and-so is running 5 minutes late", then it gets to 5 minutes past your appt time and it changes to "...running 10 minutes late"...after another 5 minutes it becomes "...15 minutes late", and so on, till you've been waiting 2 hours past your time.

Of course it's counter-productive, but most human behavior is counter-productive, so we gotta massage shit as much as possible to keep this behemoth we call civilization moving forward. If everyone was perfectly frank about everything we'd probably have set the world on fire by now.

It's about conflicting interests behind the scenes moreso than the likes of Tedros thinking he's higher and mightier than everyone else. There is tension between getting everyone somewhat vaccinated and preserving the first world anchors of the world and the people most affect by it. China holds the greatest sway over Tedros and thus the WHO will try to favor outcomes for China as much as "allowable".

It's also hedging bets PR-wise, making the organization appear to look at all facets of the matter and after "much consideration", come to their current conclusion.

Airlines also do that because they can't move up the time. You can't say "Delayed 2 hours" then "oh shit, never mind, we're leaving in 30 minutes."

Just spent the weekend in NYC and provided my vaccination card for admission to a number of places. No problems at all. Rode the subway a lot and maybe saw like 2 unmasked people the whole time.

On the upside all the street parking taken for outdoor dining was full everywhere we went. Kind of incredible how much more alive the city feels vs my last time there in 2019.

Closest I've been to Manhattan since pre-pandemic is attending several Mets games... I had a mask with me but the only time I wore it was inside shops/food places as did 98% of other folks.

Had my physical vaccine card with me too along with a pic on my phone but I've yet to be asked for either once anyplace.
