I hate him, and people like him are what's wrong with cyclists. People like him are why I have no respect for cyclists. You want to share the road, SHARE the road ya little douchenozzle. I'm sure he'll get hit soon enough though.

He was just as bad if not worse then many of the drivers. A lot of his "bad drivers" weren't doing anything wrong.

florida law

(1) Every person propelling a vehicle by human power has all of the rights and all of the duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle under this chapter, except as to special regulations in this chapter, and except as to provisions of this chapter which by their nature can have no application.

Later provisions point out that motor vehicles have the right of way...

I don't care what state you're in. It is illegal for a bicycle to run stop signs or disobay any other traffic law.

I saw a few instances where he had a legitimate beef, though. Lots of cars turning in front of him or passing too close.

IMO, unless it is powered by an engine, and/or moving no slower than the usual traffic speed on any given roadway, it doesn't belong on the road. Hell, I've wanted to pass bicyclists on the road when I'm driving farm machinery (which has a top speed of roughly 25 MPH). Humans and human-powered-vehicles belong elsewhere, regardless of the law.

After seeing a few hundred bicycle VS car accidents, that guy is gonna have every bone in his body broken sooner or later, and it won't be pretty...

If I had the chance, I'd run over bicyclists. Those guys are assholes.

The ones who aren't..sorry for stereotyping, but you are few and far between.

I sometimes go through stop signs and red lights, but I always at least slow down for them and look. I don't just go through them and expect everyone to stop for me.

EDIT: Just watched the video. I don't see what anyone's getting so pissed at. I don't like the guy's incorrect attitude that bikes always have the right of way, but there were only one or two instances of him being a bad cyclist, and none that I could see of cars being stupid. Mostly it looked like he was following traffic and acting like a car, and not switching between "pedestrian mode" and "car mode" as many people complain about.

"Share the road but not the responsibility."

Someone commented on the radio about bicyclists which is amazingly true:

The pointier the bicycle hat - the more of an asshole they are.

Wow, fuck that guy. That is exactly why I hate misinformed elitest cyclist commuters, like him. Not once did that fucker yield, stop or observe proper cycling protocol. Half the time he was smack in the middle of the lane. What a douche bag.

Thankfully not all cyclists are like that.

What do you think sharing the road means? As a cyclist, you can legally ride in the middle of the lane. When I ride, I usually ride towards the right hand side so cars can pass, but that can be dangerous too since parked cars can door you.

I haven't seen the video as I am at work, and his comments about bikes always have the right away is totally off, but I think most people would have a different opinion of cyclists if they ride/commute regularly. I don't know how many times I've heard "get off the road" or my favorite "get a job" because I'm riding in the street.

I don't have a problem with cyclists running stop signs if they at least slow down and see if there's any cross traffic before hand. It is a pita to lose your momentum because of a stop sign especially on a hill.

I think "sharing the road" mean NOT blocking all car traffic behind you on two-lane/two-way roads with speed limits in excess of 45mph. While "legal", it makes one a complete asshole and a target for those who hate cyclists.

You're sharing the road by allowing enough room for cars to pass. At least half the time he was not. As for getting "doored", I agree; but most of the roads in the vid were not city streets with parked cars.

Again, I haven't seen the video, but I doubt you can see if he is in fact blocking much traffic behind him. Yes I agree that as a cyclist, you should be aware of not holding up traffic behind you, but sometimes you have to ride in the middle of the lane because of poor road conditions. Drivers should be aware of the rights cyclists have on the road and not automatically get road rage because a cyclist is inconveniencing them slightly. That said, there are definitely douche bag cyclists out there.

No there aren't. I saw very few cases of bad driving OR bad cycling. Maybe a couple of the latter, but not many.

It was unbelievable how many they stopped, so much in fact that while they were busy filling the Bikers in on the Traffic Laws that other Bikers went blowing through the same Stop sign.

Bikers on Roads are required to follow the same Traffic Laws that Vehicles are subject to.

Why the hell didn't they fine them?

Isn't it something like CN$120 for blowing a stop sign? and CN$250 for blowing a red light?

What is the law regarding those weird three way junctions? (14 sec)

As for the Douche in the video, he doesn't perform any signals or lifesavers that I can see.

What is his problem with the car @34 sec? It doesn't look like he slowed at all... the car pulled out and cleared him fine...

@1:15ish shouldn't he have kept to the left hand lane when performing his manoeuvre rather than drifting across into the right hand lane?

@1:36 he is pissed that someone pulled in in front of him when he was 8 seconds away from the junction :Q

@2:13... its the same junction OH NOES!

@2:40... failure to stop at a STOP sign.
