So get this, the terrible Raiders still have a decent shot at the playoffs if they beat the Broncos next week.

If they win and the Texans beat the Titans, the Colts beat the Jags and Ravens beat the Steelers they are in the playoffs...

I can only imagine how excited any team would be to see them in the Wild Card round.

I am 100% for the reseeding in the NFL playoffs. There is absolutely no reason that any team in the NFC East should be a 4 seed, hosting a team with potentially 4 more wins than them, and at best, 2 more wins. It's just dumb. The NFCE team deserves to be a 6 seed.

Substitute NFC North or West and we've been down this road before.

Unfortunately I completely agree ... heart of a Champion and all that.

The AFC top to bottom I believe is a little better talent-wise but the top 2 teams in both conferences are very close. *(AFC: Ravens, Chiefs & NFC: 49er's, Saints)

Definitely add the Saints to your "serious contenders" list and possibly Seattle as well although as mentioned they may have too many injuries to overcome at this point in the season.
I agree. 9er's barely beat the Saints a few weeks ago.

Seahawks, well, Wilson is a magician. That guy is what? 5'10"? He's amazing at avoiding injury at that size. They don't dominate, but they have been winning at the last moment a whole lot this year. Wilson said they're confident in those situations that they'll get it done. But they've lost 3-4 home games this year.

Yeah, argument of course it was an odd year so why change?

I am struggling to get through the first episode. When does it start getting better?
Season 3.

:p

It's meh, imo, but I'm binge watching at work and my other choice is a book on the Founders/Constitution. 3 more hours until beer-thirty.

I still favor Baltimore over KC especially since they have home-field but I must admit the Chiefs D really has improved. Unfortunately for Andy Reed IMO the Ravens are substantially stronger on both sides of the ball AND on the sidelines.

Don't get too excited about beating the Pats either ... they're a little on the old and slow side these days plus Brady is short on offensive weapons.

Pretty much this. Everything the Chiefs have going for them, including Andy Reid, there is still...Andy Reid, the gametime coach. The playoff coach...just, no. Harbaugh out-brains that guy any day.

I don't expect Belichick, Brady and company to make the SB, but am not counting them out because... you can't considering their history.

I'm not expert, but seems to me the AFC is stronger than the NFC. I don't see anyone but Baltimore or KC winning the SB except maybe the 49ers. Mahomes to me is the definition of confidence. It looked so easy for him the other day he looked bored. This is going to be interesting.

wut? those are the only 2 teams in the AFC...and hell, of course the Patriots. You can never discount them.

NFC is like ~6 teams that are potential SB winners. ....OK, Seattle is suddenly decimated, but they have magic unicorn dust that can not be ignored, either.

I hope the Aints get AB, and he helps them implode. Working him out just proves once again that outrage over certain things is selective. Sexual assault? No big deal. Racism? No big deal. Terrible personal conduct? No big deal. They deserve each other.

Regardless they go in the loser column.

I agree: fuck them. There is no reason they should be allowed to have an athletics program right now. It's totally fucked how little the NCAA cares about the worst violations that a school can commit, in the NCAA's so-called purview.

NCAA should likewise be dissolved for their base, blatant corruption in failing to sanction UNC for, inarguably, committing the most egregious violations in NCAA history.

NCAA makes some ridiculous amount of $$ of their own. Monopoly/mob anyone?

yeah, and what % of that income is lump-sum payoffs from the biggies to keep their precious programs on the unbanned side of the laws that the NCAA makes, and doesn't enforce?

That's backroom $. The NCAA has a function, just like unions, but they have no other governing body to stop their opressiveness.

LSU is rolling out their 2nd string in the 2nd half. Damn, they're beastly.

I abhor saying stupid things like this, but I am thinking LSU could compete with a team like the Bengals or the Dolphins. ....LSU would probably still lose rather decisively, but they'd compete for a quarter or two!

We'll see if Clemson has a team today. Osu has a score to settle after 2016 and they have 2 Heisman runner ups.

Clemson is a great team, but I'm not sure if they are ready to play their first game of this football season after that extended pre-season JV play in the ACC. :D

Agree. I'm hoping they are a lot less beat up for an edge. The wife and kid are in DC so I won't have to hear her yelling for OSU in the other room....uni of s.c. grad and rabid fan.
