Looks like the Rams 49ers game will be a wet one. Don't know who that favors. Maybe the 49ers, they run more than just about any NFL team. Except for that game against the Saints. I get to see it in Berkeley because home games are always broadcast here. Raiders used to have some blacked out here because they weren't selling out a few years ago. Raiders are history here.

The Santa Clara 49ers!

One of the Hulu packages carries all sports (I find the stream consistency a bit dubious, though)--I use this for the Monday and Thursday games (when Thursday isn't on Network TV). ...and I assume you aren't in the Niners market? In those cases, the local broadcast station will always air the Monday/Thursday games if they are nationally-locked to cable.
49ers games are always on local TV. Not this one. Checked my Dish Guide and my Tablo Guide, no joy. Going to have to sign up for a trial then cancel it.

Seems like the move to Santa Clara has carried even more baggage beyond replacing the actual fan seats with that giant wall of mostly-empty SV-VC CEO glass viewing containers. :D

Yeah, that was looking like a real bad idea... until this year! Still, it gets pretty hot in that stadium sometimes.

Whether or not the team performs well in any given year has no fundamental bearing on the fact that the organization moved from its actual historical roots and fan base, simply to appease a handful of ignorant tech fucks that have zero interest in any type of land-sportsing.

Their suckage at the time had nothing to do with the move--it was the dumbness of ownership in firing Harbaugh (granted--I always hated his decision to go with Kaepernick--it was dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb from the beginning, but they guy is still a great football coach and would have moved away from Kaepernick if given another year).

Still, there are far, far, far worse owners in the league, and you can't really hold that over the Niners because they do put together some consistently good runs throughout, in comparison to the permanent mediocrity that is the Redskins, or Browns, or Miami, etc.

Kaepernick almost won them a Superbowl so I fail to see how using him was a bad plan.

He played ~4 games that season, just as the playoffs were starting. It was an amazing offense and defense that, when Kaep was tossed in, made it far more difficult for teams to adjust for at the end of the season. The league knew what the niners could do by then, but Kaep changed it up at the last minute.

But it was always a fluke exploited for temporary strategy, and pretty much everyone knew that, because the guy has no brains for the position. He never did. The complaint is keeping him as the long-term starter, which never made any sense. He was quickly exposed, too.

Now, I do think the guy has enough physical talent and ability to be on a roster, somewhere, as a #2 or #3, but that's an entirely different story.

Yeah, agree that dumping Smith for Kaepernick was dumb. Actually, they should have drafted Aaron Rodgers instead of Smith, but having taken Smith #1 instead, they should have stuck with him. Many bad moves, and firing Harbaugh wasn't smart. Apparently the players weren't wild about him, though. That's the skinny, I heard.

It's looking like the best thing the owners did was hire John Lynch as GM. Building that stadium in Santa Clara always struck me as a bad idea. The situation is fluid now, I don't know where it's going with the 49ers. I think Garoppolo's health will be pivotal. I don't even know who's backup quarterback now. But they're not as quarterback dependent as many teams, so losing Jimmy wouldn't be lights out.

I agree with the dumping Smith part.

I'd like to see Garoppolo make better decisions and improve on accuracy. You hurry him up and he loses something. Jackson gets hurried and he either scrambles out of it or throws it away cleanly. Not that Garoppolo is a scrambler.

It's Mullens then Beathard.

The 49ers were a terrific franchise under Bill Walsh as head coach. Took him a season or two. Behind Bill, (a great, positive, innovative coach) really it was the owner Eddie DeBartolo. He was unique as an owner in terms of his effervescence and joy, his dedication to the players. They evidently loved him, and it was mutual.

From Wikipedia: 'Edward John "Eddie" DeBartolo Jr. is an American businessman best known for his 23-year ownership of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. The five Super Bowls the 49ers dynasty won in 14 years were a record total for a single owner.'

To me, the undoing of the 49ers began when the league forced Eddie out of the owner's circle. He apparently couldn't help himself and made a bad business decision, maybe several, I don't know, but he got on the wrong side of the law in a business transaction. Ownership was transferred to Jed York's mom, who confired control to him. Jed didn't have Eddie's personality at all. I had no sense that he knew what to do as an owner to keep it going. In recent years he's more in the background and I think that's probably been good for him, let him make more level headed decisions. However, building the new stadium in Santa Clara wasn't smart.

Yeah, "the wrong side of the law in a business transaction". Al Capone said pretty much the same thing. Eddie insists he was not forced out and ceded control of the team voluntarily.

Big difference. Capone was a mafioso character. Eddie didn't need to cheat. The story I heard IIRC was that he (attempted?) bribed someone to get approval for a business venture. He was already super rich, he didn't need to do that. I never heard that he was nefarious in any other of his business dealings, it was just that one infraction. Capone, OTOH, was a goon/boss/crook. Maybe it was something about Eddie, that he needed to shoot himself in the foot 'cause the situation he was in just wasn't sustainable long term for him. 23 years was good, but maybe he couldn't continue and (probably totally unintentionally) torpedoed himself.

Right, he was super rich, didn't need to do it and did it anyway. Who but a criminal would engage in high-level bribery? HE IS A CRIMINAL and your worship of him doesn't change that.

I don't worship him. And I never said he wasn't a criminal. However, there's a big difference between someone who's caught in a crime and someone who's a habitual criminal. If all truth were out, there are few of us indeed who wouldn't be found to be criminals. Uh, what are you hiding?

ROFL!! Yeah, okay, because your man crush is a criminal everyone else is too. Congrats, that's an epic level of sad and pathetic. Your worship of him comes through in every sentence. Seriously, trying to excuse his crimes as unintentionally torpedoing himself? What color is the sky in the dreamworld where you and Eddie hold hands walking along the beach?

49ers playing today. No where on my TV. I could stream it on my phone with NFL Live and broadcast it to my TV but I can't use WIFI. I have to use cellular data and I don't have unlimited data.

I do have BlueStacks on my PC. Maybe I can install the NFL Live App and use my wired Internet. Nope

If anyone knows of a reliable stream, PM me, please.

LOL, awww, did you finally go back and re-read your own love notes and realize there was no intelligent way out? Cmon dude, that drivel about un-intentionally torpedoing himself is just ridiculous. You sound like some lovesick 16 year old girl who thinks her boyfriend cheated on her because he loved her too much. Eddie committed his crimes because he's a scumbag criminal who will happily break any law necessary to get richer.

I can't believe it's a tie game right now. New England has outplayed Buffalo for about 29 minutes barring a fumble on the first drive.

But the Bills come up with the big play when needed, on the 4th and one it's a great tackle to end a drive, and although Allen has been a bit erratic that over the shoulder pass to the TE to the 1 was perfect, the TD pass fooled NE's defense completely. This is a scrappy club that give's zero shits about stat's and just keeps grinding.
