Just a fun team to watch.
I hope my buddy gets tickets to the playoff games and invites me to go like last year. Last year I went to the Chargers game in a Rivers jersey just to fuck with everyone. But this year I'd go as a neutral fan just to enjoy good football.
I was thinking that Thursday night but figured they'd just demolish the Jets and didn't tune in. Evidently they did steamroll the Jets. I didn't want to see another one sided game.

Yeah they are definitely an anomaly this year as far as how they are winning. It is also fun to watch though. Their defense is a huge part of it though too. Kind of like the Pats this year. Without their defense, they would have a lot less wins. Brady isn't the normal Brady this year, and may never be him again.
Their defense is great, especially the defensive line. They focused on that in the rebuilding effort (John Lynch, GM). But there's no standout on defense either. Even Nick Bosa, who says the defensive front works as a team at all times, that it's the basis of their success. Their linebackers are integral too.

Brady needs a running game that isn't ranked 29th in the NFL, he need's his O-line to block better and he needs those rookie receivers to get open, besides Edeleman, (who is banged up at this point) there is no one to trust for Brady. Your right about the defense though, without that unit their record is much worse.

Once again terrible reffing. They just called a face mask penalty against the Bills and the guy's hand was like 3 inches from even touching the guys helmet. Like not even remotely close. And that just gave the Steelers 1/2 the distance to the goal.

The fact that things like that can't be challenged is simply absurd.

Typical 49ers game. Win when they should lose and lose when they should win.

Meh, Atlanta still has some high end talent and Jones had a hell of a game today. Niner's are 11-3 so not too shabby!.

What happens if the 49ers win out and the only game that the Seahawks lose is to the 49ers here on out? Which team wins the division?

if both teams win out and Seattle loses to SF, then SF wins the division, and Seattle takes the Wild Card. Simple math.
I think they also win the NFC at 13-3, because they own all tiebreakers against the Saints or Packers. (all 3 could finish at 13-3, jostling for overall #1)

Interestingly, if Seattle finishes at 13-3 (have to beat SF) and ties with NO at 13-3, then NO gets the #1 seed. But, if GB and NO and Seattle all finish at 13-3, then Seattle gets the #1 seed for some reason. ...Not sure, but I think it is order of operations for Seattle beating GB, GB beating NO, or something. I dunno, really.

Seattle currently has the advantage because they play Arizona and then SF at home. I think SF still has a game against the Rams? Rams absolutely must win out to have a chance, which isn't very likely for them. (I think they essentially need SF to lose all of their final games, as well as Minnesota?

Seahawks and 49ers currently have the same record. So if they both win out except 49ers win the rematch, then 49ers win the division as they'd be 13-3 vs a 12-4 Seahawks.

Right, that is simple math. But what if the 49ers beat the Seahawks (who win out the other games) but lose to the Rams. If both at 12-4, who takes the division?

In that scenario it's the 5th tiebreaker which is strength of victory, which I don't know if we can determine yet.
Reason it's the 5th.
First tiebreaker is head to head, they split.
Second is record in division. They'd have each lost twice, once to each other and once each to the Rams.
Then you have record in common games. They've both lost to Baltimore, Seattle beat Atlanta but lost to New Orleans. San Francisco beat New Orleans but lost to Atlanta.
Next is record in conference. Both would have lost 3 games within the NFC.
So then you have strength of victory. (w/l/t percentage of opponents)
As of right now, the total wins of all Seattle's opponents is 72. The total wins of all of San Francisco's opponents is 67. (I'm ignoring ties since their only opponent with ties was the Cardinals whom they both play twice) Also, if New Orleans wins tonight this benefits the 49ers over the Seahawks.
However, if Seattle beats Cardinals next week they add only 4 victories to 76, but if San Fran wins the rematch then they're add the 12 that Seattle would have to 79. But you have to consider that their opponents they've beaten are still playing those 2 weeks as well and could affect the outcome.

Edit: If somehow through freak occurrence the 5th tiebreaker doesn't settle it (possible because SF beat Redskins and Green Bay who Seattle didn't play, Seattle beat Eagles and Minnesota who SF didn't play. Also if somehow over the final 2 games Atlanta has a better record than New Orleans). Then you go to the 6th tiebreaker which is a lock for Seattle. The 6th tiebreaker is Strength of record. So w/l/t percentage of all opponents, not just those you beat. Seeing as 3 of their 4 losses would have the exact same record, that adds nothing. But Seattle gets to add New Orleans record to their strength while SF would add Atlanta. New Orleans is guaranteed a better record than Atlanta this season.

Tell me about it. Bills fan here, and I felt like the refs were screwing us most of the game.

Anyhow, this has been an incredible season for us. I was fortunate enough to go to 4 of the home games(it's much more fun when you win). I hope we can win out, and maybe Fitzmagic can do us a solid. Really wanna go to a home playoff game.

So the Browns did whatever they had to to acquire two top-of-the-line WRs for Mayfield and now both are basically publicly asking out.

What a disaster, even for Cleveland.

Looks like the Rams 49ers game will be a wet one. Don't know who that favors. Maybe the 49ers, they run more than just about any NFL team. Except for that game against the Saints. I get to see it in Berkeley because home games are always broadcast here. Raiders used to have some blacked out here because they weren't selling out a few years ago. Raiders are history here.

yeah, that even surprised the Falcons.

Surprising outcome but far from shocking ... I'll refer you back to the Saints going down in similar fashion earlier in the season. Not sure whats up with the Falcons this year but in IMO they should have a lot better record then they do.

Not sure that really favors either team in this matchup since they both have a strong running game.

Having said that I'll be very surprised if the 49'ers don't win this by 2+ TD's ... if the game were in LA I would still favor SF but not by as much.

Next 49ers game is on the NFL Network? WTF, how am I supposed to watch that?

One of the Hulu packages carries all sports (I find the stream consistency a bit dubious, though)--I use this for the Monday and Thursday games (when Thursday isn't on Network TV). ...and I assume you aren't in the Niners market? In those cases, the local broadcast station will always air the Monday/Thursday games if they are nationally-locked to cable.
