They were set up too close to the polling place. I'd had to tell people to move signs etc. before.
1. go to vote, 2. get your free Obama T-shirt and 3. eat free pizza. It's illegal to pay people to go vote in Colorado. Is it a big deal ? Nope, but it is against the law.

you are right. they did break the law. is it a huge and bad thing? not really.

for those saying pizza is a cheap bribe didn't these laws start because politicians were bribing people with food/beer? seems i remember that from history class.

not a huge story. yes they broke the law. they said they would stop. i don't see it as a big issue. they shouldn't have done it and yes they deserve a slap on the wrist.

The GOP had to file a complaint against Democrats for Obama who had not only set up their illegal operation too close to a polling place, but were bribing people to vote by giving out T-shirts and pizza.
The republicans are going to be outraged when they learn that their own party hands out free pins and bumper stickers.

Someone should take it to the extreme. Rent a prostitute for the entire day then allow random people to have sex with her while wearing Obama brand condoms.

It's a toss-up State, I wonder what other kinds of crime they're committing, to get those votes?

Is it within a hundred feet of the polling place? Draw me a map so I don't have to guess you are full o'shit.

the bribe i do wonder about. seems there was nothing saying you needed to vote for Obama. so unless they were saying you couldn't get a shirt or pizza for voting for Romney i don't see a huge issue. still something they shouldn't do though.

they should have known better on the footage though. its all over the windows..

but not a huge issue.

Anything that entices participation is frowed upon by the GOP, Republicans dont like tshirts and pizza?

shrug. i don't think its a big deal at all. they are not saying vote obama and get a tshirt and pizza.

they were (a report said they would move back) within 100 ft.

not a huge issue but seems they broke rules. no big deal move back and don't offer tshits.

IIRC I read this story yesterday and the guy in charge made the Democratic volunteers aware of the complaints, and they apologized and moved. It sounded like more of a misunderstanding than anything. Where's the story

Other than being too close, what was the crime? It can't be a bribe, they didn't give them something in return for anything. Election awareness/GOTV is not walking someone to the booth and watching them pull the lever.

Most people when given something of value for an assurance that they'll do something for receiving it will usually do whatever it was they got "paid for". Sure there are always the scoundrels that don't, but by and large they'll do it. It was an intended bribe for performing a vote action and it is illegal in Colorado.

No outrage, no frothing and it's a small story, but it again shows that so many Democrats and Obama supporters feel they're above the law and should be able to do anything they want since laws don't apply to people with really, really, really good and pure intentions.

Actually, handing out free contraception for voting would be hilarious. Can you imagine the how Hannity and Rush would react?

So the Mitt Romney people on the corner downtown I saw giving away bumper stickers and lawn signs were bribing people?

The idea of spending campaign money to excite the voter base to vote rather than apathy is not a crime. There was no quid pro qou, there was no agreement or enforcement.

I have no idea where they were set up, and neither do you. All you know is that your team called for the wahmbulance & you jumped onboard.

"For their vote"? There's no way to know which way students voted- Pro-Romney students like free pizza just as much as Obama supporters.

Put the shirt in the nearest trashcan & the pizza in your stomach. Yum! Thanks, mow-rons!

Even if I was to vote republican and was a massive Romney supporter.... A t-shirt is a T-shirt.

I would so take that. Wish them luck in the polls... then vote Romney.

This is a silly article that doesnt' really mean much.

No outrage, no frothing and it's a small story,

Oh yeah? I wonder how you stumbled on it. I mean, you posted the links to the local denver news sites, but I don't imagine a Nornern California fruitcake like yourself spends a lot of time browsing Denver news sites.

Perhaps, just perhaps, it was unearthed by another perpetually outraged indignant republican and sent to Drudge, or Hannity, or Rush, or Breitbart, or whatever. Bounce it around the echo chamber for a while, see if you can make it a little bit bigger, and put it on everyone's memo.

Care to share? Or would you rather just pretend that you're some angelic protector of democracy, who stumbled on this troubling story, and just wanted to make sure it was seen?

Do Romney bumper stickers and/or lawn signs have any value ?
Do T-shirts and free pizza have any value?

Pizza is now an expensive food. Good to know.

Not only that, Obama t-shirts are "cool clothes!"

This thread is now about pie.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I love that we are getting into pumpkin pie season. I like even cheap pumpkin pie, but my stepmom used to buy a very fancy, whipped-filling pumpkin pie from a bakery somewhere in the Upper East Side of Manhattan that was just delicious. I will be traveling to NY for Thanksgiving and might have to demand that she supply one of those . . .
