people are too stupid to wrestle or get wrestling even though its purest form of combat and requires more skill and training than anything else in the games...oh now I see why it was dropped in our short attention span sissified world. No one does it. Even colleges are dropping programs.

Anyone can herpderp 100m so they get it and its simple to follow point A to point B so it will never be dropped.
There is also title 9 bullshit to be blamed.
/this
they have to have a even amount of female to male. they take the ones that don't make the college much money and drop that.
And this starts a conversation about womens athletics in general. What is equal is not fair. Universities artificially inflating demand for a product women are generally less interested in then men.
What has happened to the sport of wrestling in this country since title 9 is a disgusting display of how politics ruin shit.
all about the $$$
The olympics are a joke
How in da fuck did this happen. They voted out wrestling I don't get it.

:awe:Swimming underwater is one of those things that is impressive to do, but maybe not so much to watch.
And if you think you're bored in front of the TV, imagine how the live spectators feel while staring at the surface of a pool.
I wish they would remove all the performance arts masquerading as sports. Ice dancing, ribbon twirling, etc, etc. Its sad what gets air time. I have to watch the internet feeds to see any real sports anymore.
Gymnastics is hugely popular though, along with its winter equivalent, figure skating. And as long as you're up for removing judged events (a valid position, really, given the number of judging scandals), then events such as diving, snowboarding, the non-timed aspects of mogul skiing, and many others would be removed.
If you're specifically referring to rhythmic gymnastics BUT NOT artistic gymnastics, well, I'm sorry you don't like one, but that's not a great reason to just get rid of it.
The ones I have a problem with are events like dressage (horse dancing) and all other equestrian events. Even though I realize that getting a horse to do all that stuff takes a lot of training and work, that doesn't mean it should be an Olympic event any more than motorsports, or sculpture-making, or coding. The Olympics should be about physical feats of humans, not of animals.
