No more smokes

Yeah I'm talking to you cigarettes! 15 years of my life I have been your slave. Well its over. All you have given me in return for my years of loyalty are a couple of black lungs and a pile of butts outside.

I'm done.

Feel free to replace the replaced title with something else appropriate that doesn't include F-bombs. (And, you may remove this little note after you do.) Good luck trying to kick the habit. -Anandtech Moderator DrPizza

Thanks doc!

That's what they all say.

You know in a day or two you will be caressing the closest pack saying you will never leave them again.

You tell 'em, tiger! 😛

Have you tried to quit before? If you are truly physiologically addicted, it will be tough, but your success with alcohol bodes well.

Ironically, one of your toughest challenges will probably be after AA meeting, where ciggies and caffeine rule!

Best of luck to you!

Thanks perk.

I am just done with smokes. They went up $1 a pack this month and are going up another $1 a pack next month. $7 a day for what? For fuck's sake...I don't need that.

I quit for about six months a few years ago. I gained a ton of weight, so I started back up. This time I will take the weight gain or actually get off my butt and work out. For $210/month I can get a nice gym membership. Maybe one close to a college so there will be nice scenery?

People at meetings treat people who quit smoking like gods. EVERYONE there wants to quit. I really think I have all the tools in my toolbox to do it this time.

Good Luck !!

My doctor told me to smoke as much as I want too!

Of course I was to go to the store and buy a pack. Take ONE out throw the rest away, go home and smoke that one cig. Repeat every time I want one. Pretty soon you will not want one.😀

Tomatoes have trace amounts of nicotine, if that's of any help.
Grow them in a victory garden?
Eat home grown tomatoes instead of smoking cigarettes.

My dad quit when mom had me, yes, cliche, one of the few that actually did it. He said: " I just reoriented my perception of it; changing from relief to fellatio. Soon, the addiction came second to the aversion of a cock in my face."

I need to try again soon. Failure comes easy with this addiction.

QFT! I've semi-successfully quit twice. Once for about 6 months...the other time for just under 18 months...but..."Just when I think I have it beat...they drag me back in."
