No more Popups

so why are all these popups happening? I hope they get it fix soon, kinda bugg'n me, but oh well, i'm sure it's not anandtechs fault

One simple solution is to use NS. I use NS 4.76 most of the time, and the pop-ups are not a feature < cough > < cough >. I occasionally have to switch to IE 5.5. Made the mistake of logging onto the forums with it, today. YIKES !!![/i] :disgust:
 
I think this is a new deliberate action by AT to boost ad sale revenues. Its gone terribly awry. I have 8 popups on my screen now. I'd rather surf a porn site. Anand, if you guys need money or something ask for donations, but this sucks completely. I'll take a vacation from anandtech until you get this worked out. Nothing personal but this is as bad as a pr0n site.

Maybe you should switch to member-opt-in spam mail in trade of banners. Everyone knows banners don't work anyways.. i'd rather get a spam a day than see this cr*p.

I have 3 exams tuesday/wednesday/thursday and couldn't seem to get off this forum.

now that the popups are going insane, I'm too scared to visit this forum again.
 
Just think... Netscape 4.7 actually does have a purpose now! 🙂

It's the only browser I have seen that doesn't do this popup crap!

I'm not sure how Anand's current ad model works.. but I know he doesn't want this mess. however it seems that the ad people are doing it on their own somehow. I have seen this happen about 3 times now, it doesn't appear as if it will just stop unless there is a way to stop it from occuring with code. There will always be some ad company out there that doesn't read Anand's rules and slips in these popups, which cause a major disruption in the site.
 
Thank goodness for TV, think I'm gonna eat my Subway footlong and watch new episodes of Boston Public and Third Watch. Let's hope these are gone within 3 hours.
 
TOO MUCH DEBT? I have two popups on my screen right now, and they seem to be coming up every few sec....Make that 3 popups. God.
