they should just make a really skinny door that you have to enter in sideways. it would be a good way of keeping the fatties out. of course then you'd probably have fatties who would get stuck.

Or two lines....one to get in, and one for "OMGZ FREE CAKE!!1" ...but haha, joke's on them...because that one just leads to a long hallway that empties out on the other side of the block. 🙂

Is there gonna be enough space? 😛

LOL, this entire situation reminds me of a club i've heard about in DC where the only entrance in is a very slim door, if you can't fit through it you can't get in!

My buddy is a rep for an upscale club in NYC. He said if he brings fat and or unattractive women in enough, even friends, he loses his job. The idea is that attractive females cause men to spend more.

I think thats kinda mean but I support the notion that clubs are private businesses and they should be able to set up any rules they like.

Thats why I was ticked off when California made laws saying you couldnt smoke in bars.
I'm not a smoker and I dont particularily care for the habit, but I think a private business owenr should be allowed to run it his way, not the governments way.

Smoking is a health issue to others in a nightclub.

A single fatty takes up the space of several skinny hot chicks.

And America breeds fat people. Our society shouldn't force feed fatty foods to people and then push them away.

Who the fsck is being force fed anything in this country?

Simply having food available is not the same as "forcing" it on people.

When will crybaby liberals EVER understand the concept of personal responsibility? Good GAWD! Now simply having something available is "FORCING" it on people.

No bodybuilders or chicks with big titties, huh?

BTW, sounds like a very bad fire code violation.

I'm lazy so i'll just paste my comment from the news page...

?my concern is for younger girls this will have a lasting effect on them.?

So you want them to stay fat and later become diabetics or die from a heart attack or the million other health problems that fat people have? Anything that encourages younger people to stay at a healthy weight is a GOOD THING. I don?t know why you can?t comprehend that being fat is not healthy for anyone, it is absolutely NOT ok to make ?young girls? believe that it?s ok to be fat. It is not good for them! No idea why you idiots can?t get that through your thick skulls. So many idiots trying to be politically correct, that they don?t even realize how ridiculous some of the things they support are.

Simple way around that.

"This is no longer a bar. This is a private club. A lifetime membership costs $0.01."

Surely there are big emergency exits

Awesome!

I kept telling you guys smoker's were first, fatties next.

Nowhere in the constitution is being a fatass protected. Their fatness harms my digestive system and I have a right to have a free, not vomit inducing digestive system. Puking from seeing their fatness makes me vomit. I can't enjoy my meal with the site of their fatness. It's freaking disgusting.

NO FATTIES!!!!!! They make me puke, raise my insurance and must be kept out of public places where I can see their fatness. It's so disgusting that I cannot eat because they ruin my appetite.

Hey fatty, you're next. You choose to be fat and ruin my entitlement to happiness.

Skoorb?

/taps sarcasm meter 😕

I don't have a problem with a private establishment keeping fatties out than I do with the same allowing (or not allowing) smoking, but surely you can see that's different than what you posted here, right?

It's private property. If the owner doesn't want you on, he can throw you out. That simple.

hummm, now that is a interesting thought. Im guessing it is a public club meaning you pay a cover to get in and not a membership club where you sign a contract.... Private clubs can decide who they want inside the doors based on sex and race.... but as a public club is the law about discrimination still apply? what if he said no brunettes allowed?

Im all for a property owners being able to run their business as they want but i think this club is on thin ice.

I doubt it. Just like any establishment, they have a right to refuse service to anyone.

I have only one comment for this thread:

THE CLUB IN THE ARTICLE IS ON THE CHANNEL ISLAND OF JERSEY. THIS IS LOCATED IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL, NEAR THE COAST OF FRANCE.
JERSEY IS NOT RELATED TO NEW JERSEY IN ANY WAY, AND IS LOCATED A FEW THOUSAND MILES EAST OF IT.
NO AMERICANS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS STORY
