The accuracy of those specs (that is, the ones that GTaudiophile posted) is highly doubtful. They have been around on the rumor sites for quite some time, and it does appear that someone copied and pasted the D2x specs and changed a few things. Most recent rumors point to 10.4MP or thereabouts, without high speed crop, etc.

"lower end" DSLRs have a crop to them...so when you use a lens you have to multiply 1.x (usually 3-6) to your focal length.

Full Frame means that the CCD or CMOS chip is the same size as a Film negative 1x1.5 inches basically, the DX or APS sized ships are smaller by about 1/3rd which is why they have teh crop factor

Nikon wint release a FF camera till the D3 if ever, it really isnt needed, the D2X showed that you can get the same IQ out of a DX chip and negate some of the issues and cost of FF

Yeah the specs aren't official. Supposedly there's a press conference Nov 1.

If the AF system really is CAM2000, it'll be interesting to see what this does for the D2Hs. Hopefully it'll get a price drop.

Heh what I really want to see is support for manual lenses like the D2 series.

yea the ones pasted in here arent exact, however itll be between 10-12 MP, a fast AF then the D70 tho not confimed CAM2000, but definitly faster, better viewfinder then D70s but not as good ad the D2 series, 2.5 in LCD, vert grip option..... most likely 5 FPS w a decent buffer in RAW and Jpeg

the new ring flash is real and itll be sweet, many have been waiting for this for a while, the wireless flash commander is also geat

Yes, THAT would be nice. Support for manual focus lenses.

Really 10 or 12 or however many megapixels you stuff in there does not do me a hell of a lot of good if I can't meter when I put my fvcking lens on there ;)

Sub $2000? Damn, that's really affordable. I wonder how noisey the high ISO pics are with that much resolution packed into a crop factor sensor.

nice. first you imply the 17-55 is a horrible lens, then you say dslr's that aren't full-frame are "lower end". uhhuh. ever heard of the d2x?

at least canon has one thats similar...:)

and did you know that you can mod the 20D so that you can take it underwater? :D

But all the hot chicks are above water ;)

that's what the 70-200 2.8L IS is for ;)

edit: how much is this D200?

I don't want them to think I'm compensating :Q

No idea on price but it's supposed to compete with the 20D so I'm guessing at or below $2000.

eh, but the girls will come up to you and ask ya why the lens is a different color than the body. ;)

That's . . . just . . . sad

why is it sad? because ya can't think of a better come back? heh
man, you know it's awesome to have a nice L (especially white) glass chilling on your camera body.

edit: hey, do you know much about canon lenses?

I need to get a cheap lens to hold me over until I can save up enough for either the 17-40 or the 24-105.

I'm thinking of either Canon EF 28-105.($200ish) or the Tamron 28-75 2.8 ($300/400?)

Tamron hands down.. one of the sharpest zooms you can get. Budget canon zooms are junk.

Well it wouldn't make much sense to downgrade ;)

The corner AF points on the D200 are on intersecting thirds. On the D2 series they're on intersecting quarters. The new way might actually turn out ok.

yep saw that. I think it might just be a modified cam 1000 system which is not bad to begin with. But it's all speculation at this point.

i may not have the dough to shell out for a brand new d200 as i just got the d70 in june, but i'm all for that kit lens.

too bad it probably will cost $400+ alone.

Heh $400 is cheap for a lens. Based on the 24-120 VR, I'd expect it to be around $700.
