CRAP! I decided to order it, reloaded this thread, and bam! someone says they are out of stock. thats what i get for waiting 50 minutes. talk about limited stock for a hot item. i'll go to the vienna microcenter b&m this thursday and check then. not very hopeful though. good job for those who ordered.

I too have yet to receive a confirmation email, but I did print out the order confirmation. Microcenter has also seemed to have charged my CC already. They did say that they would send an email out within 24 hours on their order confirmation page.

They also have the 3.3 Megapixel Sony DSC-P1 for 316.11 minus 20% for 252.89.
Sony DSC-P1

Also ordered this.

That Sony is nice. $800 originally (!), 3 megapixel, 3x zoom, lithium battery, small. I was going to bitch about how sucky the proprietary memory sticks are, but actually, they're not much more than CF. Maybe $5 more at Amazon. So tempting...

Sony P1 for under $300? Holy cr*p, I'm getting one, even though I'm totally broke! That camera goes for at least $620 on pricegrabber.

IMHO and from what I know...

The Nikon Coolpix 800 is such a better buy than the Sony DSC-P1. ;) The reasons:

1. It is cheaper first of all.
2. Takes better pictures in general due to the better lens on the camera.
3. Can take better night shots since the Sony DSC-P1 is limited to ISO 100. :(
4. Has better manual control, since the Sony DSC-P1 is pretty much a point and shoot.
5. Takes compactflash. ;)

A very nice deal on a camera. ;)

I would have picked one up to give to my parents if it was still in stock. ;)

How does this compare to the Canon A10 that you can get for $100 AR/Coupon in staples? Thx...gotta get a digicam just to fool around. Tired of not being able to snap as much as i want and worry about pics later.

Me neither, but it's only been about 1.5 hours...

Does anyone know how long it takes for their standard shipping?

I did 2 days for just $3 more.

To me, the difference between 2 days and 7 days is an eternity (or just a brief moment if a paper is due).

I ordered the 800 at 1pm my time and the Sony DCS-p1 a half hour later. So it's been 6 hours and I haven't received a confirmation e-mail. I am sure it will be there by tomorrow. It did say on the on-line receipt that details will be sent within 24 hours.

You can no longer add the Fujifilm or Nikon to your cart so unfortunately I guess that decides it...

EDIT: Maybe AMEX will still honor the BVG. In that case, go with the Nikon!
