For all of those I had music off and hardware acceleration off and EAX off.

I'm pretty sure it's your chipset and your card having a slapfight.

Yeah, originally I was actually installing a uhh.... copy that I didn't pay for so I figured that was the problem.

Since then I've unistalled that one and installed a retail version from a friend who actually doesn't want it anymore. It's the 64-bit version.

I just enabled the immerzio 3d effects on my chaintech card (I've never done this before... I'm going to go see if it helped anything because I'm so desperate)

dug, after this I'm going to reinstall it on one of my many harddrives and see if it helps.

haha...it took me many tries to get past that part.

I still need to finish the game though...I'm about 4-5 levels from the end, I think.

nah the bit just before volcano where you fight the mercs with riot shield and rocket launcher in the long room with the pillars (takes a deep breath) is the bit i really hate :|

i have only passed it on easy, i get there in all the other difficulties and just can't get passed it :|
