Chases seem to last either 20 seconds or I get caught when 10 of them surround me. I love when the x5's come from nowhere and smash the s*** out of me. I don't usually see them coming until it's too late.
It's hands down the best NFS game since HP2. Only complaint is I wish the AI was more realistic - i.e. not being able to cut a 10 second lead to nothing when I'm driving a perfect race. I hate that catch up stuff.

I like the game, look at my Eclipse , but I dont think is the best game or anything like that.
1º- It has a Catch up system, thats patethic. You cant make a very fast race and brake a bit more in the last corner, cos the cars running behind you have unreal speed advantages. Its the worst thing in the game.
2º- Cars have no real damage, only some windows broken, but thats all. Its unforgiveable not to have a damage model in a 2005 serious title.
3º- Physics are still far behind what was achieved by NFS Porsche, wich is still the best in the NFS series, IMHO.
So, its a mix of crap with excellent graphics which keeps me playing from time to time, just because im a racing titles fan.
You all shoud try the best racing title: Live For Speed

Absolutely best racing game/sim ever. /thread
I have been playing lfs since its origin. Try the demo out, than shell out the cash for the full s2. It is amazing. Really great racing with the fz50 on the oval for the nascar type guys. and the mini's are hilarious and tight to race with. Not to mention the tweak program allows you to complete modify the cars performance specs. Talk about 4 second qurter mile 5000 horse awd MONSTER. lol
definately worth the non-time limited demo

yeah LFS rules. im still playing with the demo. A good steering wheel would probably help alot though but I got good with the mouse. this is one of the few racing games i would pay for along with trackmania sunrise and f-zero gx.
I got my left-side tires busted and I was still able to drive (rather slowly)... I think if all 4 are gone, then it's trying to move but you're not going anywhere... at least that's the thought behind it seeing that driving with 2 was so slow as it was... really pointless.Originally posted by: Lonyo
or the way you are not allowed to even try and keep driving your car after going over a spike strip?

In the UK we have "stingers" and basically the police shoot them across the road as the car being chased comes along, and then they really quickly retradt them before the police chasing get there.
Now it doesn't *show* than in NFS, but it's a plausible reason why the police can apparently drive over the strips, it's just easier in game to show them as there all the time.

Although when the strips remain on the road after the block has gone (does happen sometimes) and the police can still drive over them, well then it's annoying.

As far as civvy cars driving in odd places, there's a twisty bit with the little off road shortcut bits that go slightly inside the line of the road, and I have twice met civilian cars driving down the offf road bits.

So how do you guys that are really good at the game play it? What kind of controls do you use, are you using an actual wheel or a game pad or joystick? I've been playing the demo and I've gotten a little better at it after learning the tracks a little bit but I'm still not all that good at it. I'm using a gamepad with dual analog thumb joysticks on it... the right one controlls the accelerator/brake and the left steers the car. I think the demo is a lot of fun... lets you play quite a bit actually for a demo. I don't know if I'll get the actual game or not yet... just curious how you guys play it so well because I don't feel like I have very good control of the car, but it may just be that I need more practice.

Sense of speed means that you feel that you're going so fast that you lose control. You only get that from games like Richard Burns Rally. That's a true sense of speed![]()

well, its just a point of view...
IMHO, When you buy Live For Speed S2 License and join a MP session and you race, you feel like you are racing in REAL life, and thats something really worth to do!
even here in Latin america we have a LFS portal ( www.lfsla.net ), in which we organize championships and rules are just as in real life. Its a superior feeling...
Its just an opinion, i didnt say NFS is a horrible game and you shouldnt play it. i just made a point of view. Someones like NFS, someones like LFS... thats it and I love it.

Is it just me, or is it hard to keep your car going in a straight line in this game? It seems to me it always wants to wander to one direction or the other. I'm playing it with an XBox360 gamepad (on a PC), and the control is terrible.
