ugh... stuck again... can't complete a milestone where I have to stay in a chase for 8 minutes... I finally was able to last 8 minutes but I could never evade since I was at heat level 5 and at that point, 10 vettes and a chopper are are on my ass. :| This is near BL#3 and I've tried with 4 different cars and I get busted each time. Any tricks ? Should I not provoke them (hit things, make contact, etc.) so it would keep my heat level down ? Or what's the best way to evade in your experience ?

Run for your life.....

Personally, Id use a fully loaded Corvette or Gallardo around that point. I pink slipped both of those and found the Corvette a dream to police with.

Bump your Turbo/Supercharger up and lower your ride... I find this a good combo although I change frequently to get the feel of things again. Hit the long open roads, gives them less chance of pinning you, blocks and spikes are easier to dodge and the rhino head-on pair can be dodged easier. If you are speeding around fast, you will naturally shake off some police but once you get a nice collection on your tail... it would be wide to find a couple of close pursuit breakers to nail some more and hit the open roads once again. Keep riding around until you've whittled the crop down.... try and partially evade a few times to reset the police backup timer, this will give you a few seconds break and a chance to reset the timer and avoid doing it all again. If you've lost the helicopter, the Stadium is a good place to hide.... or the hut around the golf course (its near a T-junction.... through the park and past the hut with Pursuit Breaker.

The time challenges are quite hard, especially since they escalate to Spike Strips so quickly and they can be awkward to avoid but good handling, cornering and acceleration with a nifty top speed will stand you in good stead. If you are flying around the big roads at 160mph or more, you'll be able to shake a few cops and not so many will challenge you in a nudging contest.

just use the country highway, its the easiest way to survive, its so wide that the road blocks are usually quite easy to notice, as well the golf course and stadium pursuit breakers can quickly end the chase

Even the weakest cars spin out like they are dragging an anchor below 30mph due to the digital (on/off) input of the keyboard, and some crappy steering wheel sets.

Does anyone know of a somewhat "quality" wheel/pedal set for less than $120~ ?

I'm gonna get the logitech force feedback MOMO wheel... they sell for ~$85 US and from what i've seen so far seem to get pretty good reviews.

I am planning on NFS MW soon but I have a few questions first:
1) Can you own multiple cars?
2) Are the tracks as repetitive as in NFS Underground where you race in the same city throughout the whole game?
3) How many races are there to complete in the Underground mode and are they about the same difficulty level as in NFS Underground?

Anyone?

Sorry, must have missed your post.

1) Yes. You may own multiple cars. I dont know if theres a limit but I know Ive had 5 at one point.

2) Not really. You will get sick of certain corners but the map is quite large and they've done a good job of mixing up the path in races. It may feel samey but I didnt get the 'oh its this identical track again. I hate this track'.

3) In Blacklist mode, Id estimate around 120-130 races in total. You dont have to do them all to challenge each Blacklister but they are there to attempt. IMO, its easier than NFSU1 but the AI can really frustrate you. Some insane handling from the AI, nasty catch up AI and some rather nasty corners at times :) can lead to frustration but overall, its fun. Challenge mode offers another 69 challenges, a mix of races and police objectives.

Police AI is a bit dodgy at times, Ive seen them kill themselves a few times and they will often crash into their roadblocks but overall, its pretty good. You will learn to hate Rhino's very quickly but they will become more predictable and avoidable.

Personally, I found it very fun up until about the 3rd or 4th blacklister but then it felt repetitive until the very end. Worth the money but it does have its flaws.

get this... I finally lasted 8 mins and stayed at heat level 3 by using a non-maxed Lancer from earlier in the game. I guess the better your car, the harder they make it for you.

Head to head with the DB9 now.
