I'm not really a Colt's fan or hater for that matter. They should play to win. Its not like they haven't had a Superbowl win in 30 years and they need to be careful. Play for perfection.

I could understand if you were losing 24-3 at halftime, pull the starters, screw it.. But not when you are winning.

Believe me, Manning is pissed, Wayne is pissed, Clark is pissed, and just about everyone in Indy is pissed. We're sick of hearing the same line, year in and year out -- "we can't risk injuries to key starters." Well guess what? Resting them for weeks on end and being one and done in the playoffs is something you can't risk either. They had better win the freaking SB.

is peyton a free agent at the end of this year?

Exactly. They were up when they pulled the offensive stars, but only by 5 and the Jets quickly got a TD off a Painter fumble to take the lead. I can understand giving Painter another drive or two to try to tie it up with the FG, but after that, time for the #1 offense.

Watching ESPN Saunders made a perfectly good point. Instead of the Colts potentially going 16-0 with a 25 game winning streak and feeling invincible. They are probably going to go into the playoffs on a 2 game losing streak(if they lose to Buffalo next week) with a bye week... Colt management are morons.

Holy hell! Just noticed the Bucs beat the Saints! Hell has frozen over...

So lame of Indy not to go for a perfect season. They will get punished by losing in the playoffs. One of the lamest moves in NFL history I think. If you were guaranteed to win a superbowl by pulling your starters late in the reg season, then maybe you wouldn't want to risk it, but anything can happen once you get in the playoffs anyways. Rooting against them for the rest of the season.

On the other hand the Saints are not who we thought they were. Losing to Tampa Bay, guess no one will have to worry about them. They looked so unbeatable when they played against the Patriots but since then they've just looked like pretenders.

Going into a playoff game feeling invincible is not necessarily a good thing.

Eh, they played terribly the last 2 weeks, but they're still 13-2. I'm not sure they qualify as pretenders just yet.

Anyone got a stream for the Philly game, would like to see the end of it :)

I had a stream and the Philly game, but one was local and the other was yellow, so sorry. :(

It was soul satisfying to see #20 play well, even if it was in a Denver uni. :heartfuckingicon;

I can't remember where resting your starters has benefited anyone outside of the year Philadelphia played New England in the Super Bowl. I remember T.O. being hurt and I think McNabb was trying to rest for some reason, and that is it. Every other team that has rested starters has lost early in the playoffs. Can anyone point out another time this has helped another team? I am totally open.

As one of the biggest colt's fans on this board, that is about the only thing that will redeem this piss-poor decision. Over at the big colts board we're even wishing we had belicheat as a coach in that game. That should say it all. Wanting to replace your coach with the most hated one.

At least they played to win, Colts played to lose. Fuck Caldwell. You don't play to lose.

Chargers fate is sealed, let's see what they do. They won't play to lose.

I could see shutting down for the last game of the season (a road game against Buffalo), but to do so against the Jets - the last best chance for the Colts to tune up before the big dance - is just retarded because you're basically saying we're going to shut down for the better part of a month and then flip the switch back on... yeah, brilliant.

I hope the Colts get embarrassed again like when the #6 Steelers came in and beat the #1 Colts on the road to Superbowl XL that the Colts were a supposed lock for because they had finally secured home field advantage. Colts were 13-0 that season before they shut it down and coasted into the playoffs.

Why did Manning play anything past the first quarter, maybe even the first series, if this was the plan? This was a slap in the face to the players and fans.

Trying to get a loss out of the way so they know what it feels like I guess. But in doing so it totally blew any confidence and momentum the team felt.

Caldwell fucked up the good vibes. Bad move. Very bad move. If Colts don't go to the super bowl I put it squarely on him. Colts fans are extremely pissed.

I wonder if the fans at the game could get a 50% refund since the Colts played only 50% of the game. This was just a really poor decision.

The Colts forums are littered with what amounts to F*** Caldwell, F*** Polian and F*** Irsay right now.

Peyton should have been like Brett Favre:

"No way, coach - I'M STAYING IN"

It'll be hilarious if Colts lost the game after the bye.

All hail the Evil Genius!

Like I said before, they very well may lose their first game like they did the last time they had the #1 seed and coasted like this and not even make it to face the Chargers

Dallas is heating up? Guess we will find out next week with the Eagles. It will be a crazy couple of games (winner apparently determines who gets home field in an immediate rematch in the playoffs!)

Holy shit :)

If the Skins had any sort of offense to speak of they could have won that game. Their D shut down Dallas for what, nearly 3 quarters?
