I do wonder what would actually prevent the Patriots from doing this. It seems like a longshot, but what's really going to stop them from purposely trading Moss away only to have him tell every team that he won't play for them so he eventually makes it back to the Pats? Of course, they seem to be doing fine without him, and I don't think they actually want him back. But at this point they're probably pretty happy with the decision they made to trade him. And Minnesota, as usual, is left holding the short end of the stick.

There's 0 chance the Pats get him again this year, the Jets already said if Moss is still available they'll sign him and bench him just so the Pats don't get him.

Next year's a different story and I agree with others that Moss will probably resign with the Pats.

I just got home right now, saw this thread, and all I have to say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA VIKINGS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I've been reading this all day, and all I have to say is Belichick is a GENIUS!

Moss will return to NE, mark my words - maybe not this year. He now realizes that the Pats are the best thing that has happened to him and will actually want to stay there and produce.

Only new thing I've heard so far this morning is that when ziggy found the new about moss getting the boot, he was extremely unhappy given the work he put out to get the deal through included the draft choice he spent, so I'd put this thing on definite hold while chilly spends some quality time with the owner.

There is now way he will NOT be released. There is no way you could save that relationship after that bomb was leaked. If Ziggy gets him to keep Moss, he'll be dumber the Childress. He would essentially make that team more divided than it is now.

I laughed when I heard that during the game last night. "Chilly" is going to be unemployed after this season, I think. Or maybe Wolf will force him to ask 3 Vikings to fly to Randy's house to beg him to come back. 😀

Why not shitcan Chilly, keep Moss and promote the Defensive coordinator to HC? Honestly, can they get much worse than they are now?

Moss sought out and spoke to BB and Mrs. Kraft after the game. Based on the press conference, you could tell he regretted getting traded.

The Pats may be sustaining longer offense drives but far fewer scoring drives. I've never seen so many 3 and out in the last several games.

We'll see...

IMO the problems with the offense have nothing to do with Moss being here or not. Outside of his ridiculous 2007 season, he hasn't affected Brady's YPA significantly either way and he's boosted his INTs. Those facts alone, to me, are indicative of how much of a nice "extra" he is rather than an essential piece of an offense.

The amount of people rooting for a return to NE for Moss around here (Boston-ish) is disappointing. I firmly believe he will NOT be back here this year, it would take a miracle for him to drop past so many teams in the waiver lineup, not to mention mending the bridges Moss has burned here...

MOss is a nice addition. Problem is, he is not a team player. He does not want to be a "nice addition". He wants to be the focal point of the offense. It's not the teams strength to do that. The problem on offense seems more to be Brady making bad decisions. Thing is, he did not start making much of these bad decisions until after the 07 season. You can attribute it to Moss, you can say it him being now a married man, or it could be simply the coordinators just plain suck. We do not know.

Ofcourse, the other problem could be the Pat's lack in the running game....

If you're at all interested, check out ColdHardFootballFacts.com. They are a really smart football website and, a few years ago, put forward a theory they call the "Shiny Hood Ornament Theory," which basically says that receivers like Moss and Rice are nice additions, but only to teams that are already good. They aren't nearly as important as people think and they can't take a bad team and make them good.

Their analysis is interesting, even if you don't agree with it.

He will not return even if he is on the table, IMO. BB shipped him out because of his me-first attitude and, even though he's had nothing but good to say about him since their separation, I can't imagine that the Patriots truly want him back, even if he promises to be different. At this point, he's the boy who cried wolf.

Virtually no chance he gets back to the pats, would take every other team passing at waivers for the pats to get him.

I think MOss has atleast learned something. No matter where he goes, he will not be a focal part of the offense anymore. He thought that having Favre throwing to him would be awesome. However, he ends up seeing even less action than his time in NE.

That said, a Pats and Moss reunion will not happen this year.

I don't believe anyone is gonna pick him up off the waivers. He's owed like 6 mil this season and 6 mil next if he's claimed off waivers. He's not the Randy Moss of 2000. I doubt any team is stupid enough to pick up that contract for an over the hill receiver with a cancerous attitude.

I keep hearing 3 million, but then other say 6 million. I wonder which amount is really owed.

I still think you guys are in better shape than my Colts. The Colts have a better offense, but damn, the defense blows and thank GOD Kubiak was an idiot and didn't try to pound the ball earlier last night.

You underestimate Dan Synder and the Redskins.

yeah, I watched that game last night. I had no idea why they did not just keep running the ball. Every carry I saw, Foster was getting atleast 7 yards. Then the drive fell apart when Schaub tried to get creative. Also, if there is a time to rely on Johnson and throw to him 15 times, that was the day to do it. Just send him deep and if the colts bring the rush, throw it to your tight end. If not, throw it down field. Instead, he tries to spread the ball around.

Like usual, I'm looking forward to the Brady / Manning show. 🙂
