I heard that the total owed is 3 million since he has already played half the season with the Pats/Vikes.

Correct. He's owed the balance of his ~$6.5 million salary (9 game checks left). Now, if he's claimed off waivers, the claiming team is responsible for paying that money. If he clears waivers, the Vikings are picking up that check.

yeah, I watched that game last night. I had no idea why they did not just keep running the ball. Every carry I saw, Foster was getting atleast 7 yards. Then the drive fell apart when Schaub tried to get creative. Also, if there is a time to rely on Johnson and throw to him 15 times, that was the day to do it. Just send him deep and if the colts bring the rush, throw it to your tight end. If not, throw it down field. Instead, he tries to spread the ball around.

Texans were playing behind, so they have to throw the ball more instead of running the ball, eventhough Foster ran it well.

It will be a shoot out between the texans and chargers this sunday. I hope the chargers could hold foster under 100yds and 1 tds like they did to CJ.

Reports are that the Wilfs (Viking majority owner) were not pleased with the decision to waive Moss, especially considering what they now lose (pick + salary). Sounds like Childress knew the decision could put his job at risk, but told his players he felt it needed to be done in their short & long term interest. Not the first time he's made such a move (past Christmas eve dismissal of Marcus Robinson caught him heat as well).

An informal local poll shows 80% in favor of firing Childress immediately, and another 12% at the end of the season. Personally, I think he's only an okay coach, but not the guy to take the team to a title. In my opinion, promote Frazier to head coach (about time they promote a talented coordinator rather than let them go - Dungy, Billick, Tomlin anyone?) and let Childress go.

Childress's inability to handle people has cropped up again and again in his career. Anybody remember the Troy Williamson situation? The guy left for a funeral and arrived back too late in Childress's mind, so he fined him a game check. After that Williamson wanted to fight Childress, who basically egged him on with his comments.

The guy is borderline incompetent and nobody can even claim that his inability to deal with people is offset by his football acumen, which was demonstrated so clearly on Randy Moss's first play from scrimmage as a Viking. Childress had Favre throw him the ball and then had Moss throw back to Favre. He probably spent all week planning it, but failed to realize that Favre would be declared an ineligible receiver.

He's an idiot.

Well, Moss was officially placed on waivers yesterday. We'll know at 4pm if anyone has claimed him.

News has been Moss's agent has told teams(not sure which ones) that if he's claimed by them, he will sit out the remainder of the season.

Also, Jet's supposedly will not put a claim on him or Meriman.

Jet's do not want to put a claim in on him. With all the news (even if they are rumors) on meetings between them, the Jets would be investigated for tampering.

Moss forgot one thing; that he is a threat. And because he's a threat he's now a decoy receiver. I can see Harvin's receiving numbers drop because of this.

its all part of his grand plan, he says that, everyone passes, he resigns with NE

So his grand plan is to be an even bigger asshat? Why would NE even entertain bringing this megalomanic back anyway?

Either way +1 for the Packers my friend!

Citing a source close to Randy Moss, Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that Moss would be willing to sit out the remainder of the season if he dislikes the team that claims him off waivers.
Moss reportedly "wants a ring" from the team that claims him. Moss' agent, Joel Segal, has likely made the receiver's feelings known throughout the league. Obviously, it's going to be a prohibitive factor for less competitive clubs. According to Rapoport, Moss visited the Jets' facility on Tuesday because "He sees their potential and realizes their lack of deep threat." Moss apparently isn't a big Braylon Edwards fan. For what it's worth, Bodog.com has the Rams as the favorites for Moss at 7/2. He'll be officially claimed at 4ET.

LOL...congrats Randy, you essentially made it tough for the Jets to claim you. You think they want to deal with a tampering claim?

Santonio Holmes isn't a deep threat? I really don't see how having 3 number 1 receivers on a team could end well, especially when moss is involved.
