Russell Wilson sucks and utterly got humilitated. Baker is utter trash. Kyler is bad.

Russell Wilson is showing that he can't exactly read defenses well. He also might be an egotistical prick who wants Kodak moments over winning the game.

He won his shit because the Legion of Boom and Marshawn existed. Whatever then led to him throwing instead of Marshawn running then ended the Seahawks' dynasty.

Baker and Kyler went first overall because Wilson(and Brees) supposedly broke down the barriers to small QBs.

That stupid pass instead of run call in the SuperBowl was 100% on Pete Carroll, not Wilson.

Wilson was hella good for his first few years...especially while he was in his rookie contract, but it seems like after his first big money contract, he started declining. Add to that a couple of injuries that he played through and Seattle shedding its GREAT defensive players and some of the o-line that could protect him...
I don't think there's anyone better at throwing the "moon ball" though...as long as he has a receiver on the same page.

Now that he's Denver's big money QB, I'm happy to root against him.

Yes, Jones played a very good game today, with accuracy, poise, and despite being hobbled by his ankle.

I do not hold out much expectation that he will be particularly consistent enough to truly enter the upper echelon of NFL QBs. He may enter the realm of "solid" like Dak or Cousins.

I still don't mind if he does the sell Giants into keeping him.

I'm not saying he will be a Mahomes by any means. Not at all But good luck drafting one of those. If he continues his play as he has this season he will be quite a bit better than an average QB. Definitely enough to go on runs.

Again, he is trending very correctly. Keep in mind he has had a rotating cast of shitty coaches and mostly absolutely shitty o-line play his entire career, with no notable receivers.

He is doing it now with still a mostly suspect o-line and the worst receivers now of his entire career.

If he plays out the season as he has shown so far this year, I'll be happy as hell to sign him to a contract to be our starting QB going forward. We got 11-12 games to go. But he looks like he is just improving game to game.

What's weird (as pointed out by Tirico) is John Harbaugh went for it last week when a go-ahead FG made sense. While this week, he took the 3 points when strategically it didn't help that much. Lucky for him, there was time on the clock for Justin Tucker to do what the GOATs do (after Lamar got them into position).

Smith still sucks. He misses reads. Seattle got a holding call. When Metcalf got wide open and the color guy said "he had it" before Smith did a roll out that caused the hold, and that probably cost Seattle the tie.

Smith is riding two excellent receivers and a gameplan that insulates him, basically the same arrangement Russ wanted to get out of.

Even so, that throw was obviously on the money and quite perfect for what needed to happen, but a 0.3% play from White stole it. Also, very impressive. Obviously 98% of us watching and anyone else calling that game probably would have gone for the obvious handoff, but it didn't happen. So what?

Yes, I agree that Wilson and Brees paved the way for the others, but it's not his fault for being such an obvious elite talent that is also extremely great at reading defenses that other teams may have reached in later years with mediocre QBs. Your complaint is ridiculous.

I guess Peyton Manning sucks forever because his last two seasons were garbage from having his head displaced after an entire career behind an abysmal Indy line . and complete LoL that you seem to think Daniel Jones is still waiting to prove "how good he can possibly be" when you can't even admit how plainly elite Josh Allen is. pretty much this. Of course I can never root against Wilson, but fucking Denver. I hate them, and it's hard to want them to succeed. It was already difficult in Seattle, with Pete fucking Carrol being there, but whatever. I loved the rest of that team so that's fine. (after Lynch left, I feel like the personality of that team was drained, though).

Even so, I'm still glad that Wilson didn't come to my WFT, because this organization is utter garbage and I didn't want him dealing with this shithole. ...not that I think he would have been any better anywhere else, lol.

Exactly why I refuse to ever go to a game, and my zero attendance record remains intact. ....but I also say this about any NFL game; the entire league is just awful, really.

IIRC it was the OC that took the brunt of the blame. Fantastic play by Malcolm Butler, he jumped that route to perfection. Normally a great DB will break up the pass, and the Seahawks would still go on to win. Only an INT saves the day for Tom Brady & Co.

Our resident Torn Mind has awful takes in many threads. Worse off, instead of admitting he's wrong, he'd rather just hop on his own sword in self-defense. Back on topic, the Broncos have an excellent defense. I'm not sure about the offense, but talent-wise they are closer to contention than the Seahawks are. Russell may be on the decline; he may not be. He was an excellent QB as recently as 2020. His campaign last season wasn't terrible either, but might be a sign of decline. Only time will tell, but the obvious problem in Denver is the coaching rather than the on-field talent. And you're right, he's eaten over 400 sacks in his 10 year career, which is preposterous.
