After all that (lol) I'd still take Favre over Rodgers in their respective primes for my team in a second.

And I recall that Denver/GB Superbowl quite well.... it was AWESOME!
(especially when GB LET Denver score & take the lead ROTFL)

😉
And there you have it, your opinion of Favre the player is just about your feels rather than any consensus of how good he is compared to Aaron Rodgers. 😉 (Like I said, at this time their careers are roughly similar, except Favre is way more error prone.)

You're welcome to take who you want to, I don't mind. My point re: the SB was that the Packers were at that time the "heir apparent" to the mid-90s Cowboys, and they shouldn't have lost the game. Predictably, Favre was not clutch on the final drive.

Anyway, I'm ready to bury this particular debate. You got Favre, I don't. 😛

Favre was a gunslinger so he was fun to watch. He was tough and he never gave up on a play. But he threw way too many risky passes hence why the stats reflect that versus Aaron. Brett was a great player but he could easily cost you a game because of his gunslinging style.

I don't like either of them but I would take Rodgers on my team first.

Drop Favre's numbers from the Jets and Vikings then look at them again just with Green Bay. (when he could still fully play)

He WAS too quick to "let er rip" sometimes and could drive you insane with the picks (plus he had a tendency to throw short passes way too hard) BUT he was also thrilling to watch and he played BETTER in big/playoff games.

Obviously as a Giants fan I'm biased in terms of the postseason and GB but nearly all of my lasting memories of Rodgers revolve around him failing to deliver in big games.
