Why add all the software bloat? and physical buttons, whats the point? I wouldnt expect many updates for this phone.

The US version is months away anyhow, would of liked an HTC X but I'm stuck with Verizon (no ATT or Sprint coverage here) Guess I should get a Galaxy Nexus an OG Droid can only take me so far... but I would feel dirty getting anything with an A9 at this point

They said US release in June. That's 1 month (or 2 if its end of June).

I'll hold judgement until they release the US specs, specifically ATT.
Still using my galaxy s captivate, but it's starting to show its age, even with the custom rom I have running. If the S3 for the US isn't anything special I may just spend the $399 and get the nexus and not be locked into 2 more years.

Hardware buttons are ok, they basically increased usable space on the phone screen to be true 720p. Which is a good thing tbh.

??? It's a Galaxy Nexus design which is a good looking phone

Doesn't look like it..

Lol, they painted the plastic to give it a brushed metal look

Looks quite different to me. I suppose if you're the type that finds the Galaxy S to look like an iPhone they'd look similar.

In particular, it looks like it has a flat face instead of the GNex curve.

Oh jeez they really painted/textured the plastic to make it look like brushed metal? That's pretty ghetto. I'd rather have the Galaxy Nexus' textured back surface.

Phone is total disappointment. If this came out 6 months ago, I would have said the complete opposite. This phone is 6 months too late. Which in mobile time is almost a cycle.

As long as it's plastic or something similar in weight, I don't care. Lighter the better. Every phone I see in the wild has some sort of ugly rubber case on it which adds weight and thickness and the only visible part is the screen. So how the phone looks or feels is pretty much relevant. What's more important is how the case feels on the phone. Screen is the only thing that matter on the phone.

I think we can conclude that the One X is the winner of this generation, so far. To me there is no contest between them, the SLCD2 - NON PENTILE - is absolutely beautiful compared to over saturated SAMOLED screens.

So far. But the Sony Xperia GX has yet to make its entrance. Also, has Motorola announced their flagship phone yet?

I disagree Josh, I think GSII > One X still. It really was an awesome phone. Shame samsung can't one-up it

iPhone 4S is the winner of this generation

I guess I'm more curious about the performance of the device. Physically, I would agree that it's not as attractive as HTC's new flagship phone, but as most people will probably use a case, it doesn't matter much. The screen size is getting a little out of hand though. I'm not sure if it could be comfortably used with one hand.

The camera features looked nice, but I'd want to see an IQ comparison against other phones before passing further judgement. Will also be curious to see how the SoCs stack up against each other and what real-world battery life looks like.
