at the rate we're going, number of fat people will be greater than skinny/fit people.
i can see how 1 day fat kids will bully me "hey! look at that skinny kid...somebody please pass him a double cheese burger"

That is such bullshit. If that's true the same can be said of drugs, drinking, unprotected sex, smoking, etc., etc., etc. Pick a subject. The hate expressed by people on this forum towards those who are overweight is disgusting. Fuck all you haters.

Show me a news anchor who is smoking on TV? Are they even allowed to smoke anymore on broadcast TV?

A drunk newswoman would get fired for her drinking.

Sports athletes get fired for doing recreational drugs because they are considered role models. You wouldn't even know they did drugs except for that they are forced to have drug tests. No hiding how obese she is; a test isn't even needed. Why should she be any different. She is a bad role model.

You're an idiot. Your argument makes no sense. No surprise though.

1 in 4 Americans are too fat to join the army.
Obesity related health issues with servicemen and family cost the military $1 billion yearly.
Morbidly obese people make up 6.6% of our population (yes, this woman is morbidly obese.)
2 in 3 people are overweight, and no, you are not a fucking athlete. Go get your fat percentage tested and then you can tell me you are muscle.

She needs to lose weight, not because of her role on TV, but because she is going to die an early death and she is going to cost us a lot of money while she does it.

Still, I'd probably hit it.
I wasn't going to post, but WTF?

Fat people are the scum of the earth and deserved to be ridiculed until they curl themselves up in the corner with a bucket of fried chicken.

Except for that last sentence, he's citing actual information. The Department of Defense has put out a number of documents stating that the US young people are too fat to pass PT standards. Obesity numbers are also averaging 1/3rd right now, and projected to rise to 2/3rds in a decade or two.

Not sure how much of a role model a news anchor is, but she is clearly obese. Morbidly so. She should complain less and spend more time in the gym, track, or bicycle.

when did i say being overweight was disgusting? i said it was unhealthy and costs money because it's the biggest factor in a person having heart disease, which is the #1 killer in america.

so, no, all the stuff you said isn't true whatsoever and you're just defending laziness and poor health choices.

First, my statement of "wtf" was about his

statement.
Second, that's not morbidly obese.

I wonder what would happen if a woman sent that email to someone like Rush Limbaugh? She seems to be being unfairly criticized.

Can't fap to her, eh?

Someone should show her this page:

As she said in the video, you don't think she KNOWS she's fat? Losing weight is very difficult, especially if you have a desk job. I think a lot of people sit around fantasizing about fat people sitting on a couch with a box of Ho-Hos on their stomach and washing it down with a 2-liter of Mountain Dew, and that isn't the case at all.

I used to be fat. I was a super-skinny 160lbs and 6'4" until I hit 25. I then noticed my metabolism slowed down, and then I gained a whopping 80 lbs by the time I was 32 without changing my diet. What did change is in that time I traded a job as a plant supervisor for a desk job in a call center, so there wasn't any walking or lifting going on. With my current job, I'm sitting around 8-9 hours a day, and so mentally exhausted when I get home I just want to take a nap.

I found an eating program that has trimmed me down though, and I work in 20 minute lifting sessions every other day to get some muscle tone, but it is VERY hard to do. You can't judge people and their conditions without knowing the details of how they got there.

Sorry Fritzo, I respectfully disagree. I'll bet people (not her specifically) waste more time on Facebook or getting their daily coffee versus exercising for 20-30mins 3-5x per week.

It certainly is a lifestyle change, not a quick "diet" and it is really hard saying no to certain foods or alcohol or dessert, but if you want something bad enough you do it. I used to be 5-10, 250-260 but now I'm down <200 and can't imagine a day without going to the gym. Even on vacation. And I'm 30, work full time at a desk job, have an active social life, girlfriend, volunteer, etc - my days are packed. The only thing I can't relate to is caring for children (yet).

Additionally, I think that she _can't_ see just how she really looks. It's like when somebody is losing their hair and they try and cut and style it the same. They don't notice it because its a slow process and they see it every day - its not till somebody goes "dude, you're bald" that they realize. People need cold harsh doses of reality. (I take the same viewpoint on everybody getting a trophy no matter how terrible the team is).

Bottom line is, people need to find what works for them to get and stay healthy. They have to prioritize it over TV and surfing the net and other non-value added activities. For me its waking up at 3:45am and going to the gym before work.

1. Letter was not bullying IMO. Rude and inconsiderate, yes

2. Unfair to call out the lady as unhealthy. Everyone handles weight differently. Only her doctor is qualified to make that judgement. I know many people that are "overweight", but are completely healthy and active.

3. I agree with the double-standard theory. Strong chance the viewer would not have sent letter if the anchor was an over-weight male. Again this is speculation, but from the tone of what he wrote I believe this to be true.

This is Ron Livingston's sister?

Kinda weirded out by the reactions here. My first thought wasn't some kind of pro or anti fattie knee jerk, but instead, I wondered why she made the email public... that seems rather curious and self serving. I also hate the social media culture behind doing it.

If I found out she told the emailer, privately, to FRTFO, I'd have had no problem with it. Actually, I think that's probably the right repsonse. Not this pity play.

Sorry - but I don't buy the 'Its difficult, especially with a desk job'. I have a desk job and, if I didn't make the effort to get up and walk around, I would not need to use my legs for 9 hours straight. Yet here I sit - having lost a considerable amount of weight. There is not some super secret magical formula for losing weight. Consume less calories than you burn. Thats it. If its important you can find the time or change the way you eat. It's just not important enough to her to make the effort to change her lifestyle

Its not like someone is there, shoving candy bars down her throat - these are eating decisions she has made.

Completely agree. My wife and I knew we were overweight but we didn't realize how much until we came across a picture of us when we were younger. It was so slow we didn't notice we had gotten that fat
