The scale of hypocisy and lack of scruples of so many from the GOP has basically desensitized me. They are like actors from a bizarre satirical skit come to life.

That's a good way to put it. At this point, deplorable might even be too nice a word for half of the entire party

Echo echo echo echo echo 2022 :

I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different they're statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome,”

Well you have to admit, it may have taken a hell of a long time but finally the hammer is dropping. I never thought Trump would face the music for paying a prostitute $130.000 because so much time had passed and so much water under the bridge, and yet the hammer finally fell.

The same goes for this guy Santos. It appeared that nothing would happen to George as long as he was a house member and McCarthy had his back and it was contained to just more silly antics by a republican member of congress.

Yes, we're shocked! Shocked that the shit is finally hitting the fan for both Trump and Santos and will be hitting the fan for some time to come. But you know who's shocked the most? Donald Trump and George Santos. They truly believed they were untouchable.

Next on the agenda, and I can't wait for this one, will be Clarence Thomas. It too may take some time but I fully believe it will happen. Followed by the congress men and women who took part in the insurrection i.e. Jim Jordan, MTG, well you know the list. They too have yet to face the music for their actions. They can sit there as members of congress pretending it never happened, but there will come a day out of the blue when they too are charged, arrested, and tried in court.
But first, let's do Trump and Santos. Then Thomas. Bing bing bing...

Politicians are usually caricatures of normal humans, but this lot does seem doubly so. It's like a monty python skit of ancient rome or something.

Yes, except with more spite, derision, division, unreasonable partisan opposition, obstruction, projection, rhetoric, etc.

They're taking it to extremes, while claiming to be the true victims and yelling about radical leftists and communists.

Their most prominent member was literally part of a pro-wrestling feud, and treated the role of President with the same care and dignity.

I hope he doesn't know anything. He could end up hanging himself in his cell later.

Well, at least he has said he's guilty of some crimes, even if in another country.

"On Thursday, Santos signed a deal with Brazilian prosecutors that he would confess and agree to pay almost $5,000 in fines and restitution in exchange for dropping the charges,The New York Times reported."

"Brazilian prosecutors alleged he used a fake name and a stolen checkbook to buy goods, including tennis shoes, in a store."

It only took 10 people to scam for that payment. /s

Half? No. Fuck no. Every single Republican politician and voter is deplorable. Hell, every single person who hasn't voted straight Democrat in the last 50 years is deplorable.

Who would co-sponsor a bill that go after the very crime that they are accused of? It's pure genius, he was pre-building his defense.
I mean, if you look at the recent evidence, the punishment for crimes as a member of the GOP is... well, you tell me?

I think I’m an ok guy and I’ve voted for republicans on a number of occasions, albeit not recently.
