His trial is scheduled for September so there's a non-zero chance if he does win the primary (lol no) he could be in prison on election day.

Haha maybe so, although being a member of Congress doesn’t do much to protect you from this sort of thing.

He was probably best off trying to bargain with the feds while he was still in office as he could offer his resignation as a bargaining chip.

Santos has had enough. He cannot stand to be in a party that lies and swindles it's voter base so he is quitting the Republican party and running as an independent. I swear you cannot make this stuff up.

I have trouble deciding whether he belongs in jail or a mental institution. In either case though I think he needs to be separated from the public. I don't think he feels human empathy and sees people as things
 
Today he pled guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He could get more than more than six years in prison and owes at least $370,000 in restitution. Sentencing Feb 7.
He said he regretted his conduct but I'm pretty sure what he regrets is getting caught.

Holy hell, and I thought it was ludicrous that Donald Trump could make it to be POTUS. How this dude could get elected to anything is more surprising. He's completely fake in every way. He's more fake than Borat, and far less funny.

I, and others, have said this before, every time someone gets caught, all of a sudden they are full of remorse. Their real remorse is not for the actual crimes, but as you've noted, that they got caught.

This is probably a plea deal of some type, where he pled guilty to "lesser" crimes because they got a whole lot more on him, which they'll drop for these few convictions.

The local Dems in Nassau County really dropped the ball. However, speaking from experience growing up there, that's not surprising given that Long Island tends to be filled with nincompoops.

You make it sound like Biden gave 4200 pardon's right before he left office, when infact it was 4245 during all of his 4 years, not as he was going out the door, as you implied. Seems you purposely worded it that way to make it sound worse than it is, which is manipulation, aka lying. Of course you also have to look at the crimes that Biden pardoned during those 4 years as well, which the majority of them where low level crimes. What do you have to say about Trump's 1500+ pardons on day one of his 2nd term, for those traitors who attempted to over throw our government? Oh wait, that's why you tried to manipulate the truth about Biden's pardons, so you could try to make Trump's day one pardon's not look bad. All you have done is confirmed you are just as dishonest and piece of shit as all the other MAGA Trumpers.
