I printed that $299 price off this morning to give to my boss, to see if he would pricematch on one of the 10 we had in stock (B3's), and he did without even thinking about it. Not too bad, considering I did not have to pay for shipping.

The CSR said he had G0 preorders, they wont ship til they have stock late this month/early next month. So I preordered. i will get G0 or ill return it.
 
And the price gauging starts (and they are probably all B3's) ! Thats why I settled for by 2 B3's @ 300 each. I can get a G0 later if they turn out to be as great as they are supposed to.
 
I love newegg but their automatic price adjustments suck! I got burned in dec on an fx55. It was 199.99 the day I bought it, then down to 129.99 the next day, then up to over 200 the day after that. It absolutely makes sense from a supply/demand perspective that they do that, of course. Bastards... they are becoming the micro$oft of computer equipment.

serves them right, their web page is down. I wonder if it's b/c of too many people trying to get Q6600's, or if it's a denial of service attack b/c somebody just found out that he paid 375 for a proc that was 299 twenty minutes earlier...

clubit has B3 stepping in stock. That is not what they are sending those who ask for G0. Those of us who ordered G0 have our orders on hold.

I am sure we will get G0, the CSR I talked to knew the whole process backwards and forwards.

Microcenter could be the place to go when the GO's start showing up, since you can check the box before you by ..

I think it remains to be seen whether the G0's will overclock any better on average than
the B3's...
 
I just talked with a manager at Newegg. I told him the communitiy has been wathcing this price increase over the past 24 hours and be it automatic or not, it's perceived by a good many people as price gouging.

I gave him a couple websites to check for competitor pricing. I'm curious to see what happens...

Newegg can do this because the are the king of the online hardware business. They have more name recognition then everyone else, possibly everyone else combined.

They are the Coke to your Sam's Choice.
 
I hope Newegg isn't getting to big for it's britches. This happened with CDW once upon a time. Now CDW is sooo over priced I won't shop there.

Does anyone know approximately when the g0's will ship? A few days or a few weeks? Or is it just when the B3's have all sold out...
Because if it's a few weeks or months I won't bother waiting.

Have you tried to go higher ?.. 3.2 seems pretty common with default vcore..

I know what you mean about double the encoding speed ..

Quad is good ...
 
I finally gave up waiting for a G0 Q6600, I ordered an e6750 for 207 shipped from xtremegear this am. I almost bought it from newegg for 225 last night but cancelled at the last minute.
