Do you think when they restock that they will do it with the G0 stepped processors, or will they still be B3s?

I hope so. I was about to get a E6750 but I'm patiently waiting throughout the week to see what happens.

I doubt Intel is completely out of B3s yet, so it's still luck of the draw.

Intel was still manufacturing the B3s as of a couple of months ago I heard, I suspect it'll be at least a month before the supply is run dry.

I would think, if anything, restocking would increase the chance of a GO stepping. I'm just guessing though. I'd say of all the cpus the Q6600 is gonna be the most popular this week. Followed by the E6750. Again thats just my guess.

I think that's a good guess. I'm really gonna fume if I have to settle for an e6550...

Repeated reloads at the Egg over the past few hours bring up the Q6600 as both out of stock and in stock. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm a few clicks away from ordering all of my parts and don't want to get held up by a chip that may or may not be in stock. Not too concerned about the stepping, but I'd rather the majority of components from the Egg so I get it all at the same time.

In all likelihood, I'm guessing no one has any idea what's going on... oh well!

It be so funny if the g0 stepping q6600 only comes in out in a few months, and not now lol :p

I'm kinda jealous though, I just upgraded to my x2 3800+ @ 2.5ghz, but I'm allready dreaming about the day I can buy a qaud and OC it to 3ghz, or a similar cpu from AMD.

Had it in my cart, but while reading reviews for the EVGA Ultra vs. the EVGA Ultra KO, it was removed due to "lack of quantity". What the heck is going on!

I checked Tankguys last night...they are charging $5 for a spot in line to buy a G0 stepping Q6600, but the disclaimer also says likely arrival in the first couple weeks of August...for around $280. Clearly, these guys anyway are planning to charge a premium for this stepping.

Actually this is a good sign @ Newegg. Maybe we will see G0 Q6600's sooner.

I'll have to spend all day refreshing the page :)

How is $280 a premium? Newegg is charging $299 for B3 steppings. Don't expect a $266 for a long while.

what is with the price jump? it seems to me like they have some b3 chips left and are trying to slow down the purchase rate until they get the new g0 chips in

G0s make the geeks wet their pants. thats what i've gathered from these forums

but the difference is in the increased heat threshold, reduced heat output and better overclockability.

BTW...if i order an E6850 or E6550 am i guaranteed a G0? (since they didnt exist before)
