I spend big $$ at Newegg (work & personal) for years. Recently they have been playing games with pricing. Up and down. This isn't the stock market.

I am with you Chris - I can't stand when companies pull crap like that. I am now pricing my new machine from head to toe at competitor's sites.

They are smart ... demand is healthy enough that they keep selling at any price, so they would be stupid to not raise the price.

Lower prices shall come to those who wait, in this case. It could be that some G0s come as well :)

I wonder if Newegg has some kind of auto-price adjustment that moves price up and down with demand ??

The price game they played today was crap. It wasn't auto adjusting. Some big whig decided to have fun with the price, a one day power trip. Shame on you newegg. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

$295.00 with Free Shipping at ZZF

Are you sure they weren't just telling you what you want to hear? The listing for the Q6600 on their site clearly says B3 for the stepping.

Be sure to check when you get it before opening it.

A conversation over the phone with "somebody" indicating that they have (and shipped you) a G0 is nothing to go on if what they sent you was actually a B3.

Someone should really start a betting pool on all of these price adjustments. All of the OOSs, restocks, and reprices are getting to be hilarious. Who wants to take $399 at Newegg by noon tomorrow? :p

Newegg's system is completely automatic. It raises the price as demand increases. That's why you can typically find their items cheaper elsewhere.....if they are in stock. The issue is when they are the only ones with stock, which happens frequently, sales go up and so does the price.
