Unless you are planning on hitting 5GHz while running 2 graphics cards in SLI, 750W is too much. For a single GPU and a CPU, I'd recommend no more than 600W. Secondly, that is an OCZ power supply, so it's not the most reliable unit (the ZT series is made by Great Wall), and, if you read the JonnyGuru review, you'd see that it has difficulty suppressing ripple on non-primary rails and has inconsistent hand-soldering on the inside. Finally, you can get a quality 500W unit for around $60 (which has none of the ripple issues and fewer soldering issues) and a DVD burner for around $20 (before a $10 rebate on the PSU) so it would cost less just to get the things separately.

I did read those points on the review but since I'm not versed in power supplies, I can't understand why they would still recommend them if they are that big a deal.

I don't plan on doing any CPU clocking that requires super cooling or anything but I might indeed have a crossfire setup. Certainly I wanted to have a 750w PSU and crossfire board to be ready for it.

So you would still recommend the CX750 then? I suck at cable management but if so, I can just go for that, since it's currently at a good Newegg price.

My current PC I bought the stuff over the course of about 9 months...I'd have to do the math but I would guess I put together $1100 of parts for about $750. Since I would be reusing HDD/SSD/etc this time the potential savings are low since we're only talking about a couple of parts, but I was applying the same principle.

That doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible to build a similar rig for much less than $1100 within a few weeks of the build date. Seems like a huge waste of time and effort to me, not to mention not getting to DOA test the whole PC within a short time of buying the components, and also losing out on months of warranty

Agree 100%. You have to get a spectacular deal (like 50% off fair market value) for it to be worth buying a single, otherwise useless, component out of band.

Having a different issue now. Actually, I been having it since I built this computer I just didn't realize it til now. I had created a new Documents folder on a different hard drive from the boot drive, included it, set it as default save location, etc but game installs still create folders for savegames on the original mydocuments on the C drive. Is there anything that can be done? As far as I can tell I did all the steps.

As for a power supply, I guess I'll keep on hanging on. Besides, I'll have even more money saved by then.

It sounds like you just added a new folder to the Libraries interface. That will only affect programs which use the Libraries API, which ain't many. Check out this guide on doing the relocation.
