This reminds me of an article I read recently. There are a few interviews with troops that were involved in that type of stuff. Am I a Torturer? I thought it was a pretty good read.

The timing of the story is absolutely irrelevant to the contents of the story itself. While it could be an interesting topic to analyze the timing of news stories, Abu Graib isn't something that should be brushed under the carpet. The administration responsible is still in power. The conflict that generated Abu Graib is still in progress. The "few bad apples" whitewash has never been properly rebutted. The secret video has never been released. The waterboarding torture stance of recently appointed officials is relevant to this. This story is far from dead.
