The Christmas party is generally in our building and is from 3 PM to 5 PM with great food, so I don't mind it.

Our picnic used to be during the day and outside in the park. Last year they moved it offsite and are continuing it this year. It makes me wonder if they are going to eventually do the same with the Christmas party and make it "formal." No way on earth would I go to it then.

At a company I used to work at, they had this formal bash downtown in a hotel and you could get a room to stay overnight. You had to wear a suit or tux. Why on earth would anyone want to go to something like that? I can't even comprehend it.

No free meal is worth having to tolerate coworkers while dressed in a monkey suit on your own personal time. :D

My da is a post master for the USPS. As a child I always loved going to their christmas parties. It was always at someone's house

I have to laugh at the IT job postings on Career Builder. Every week, they are flooded with job postings for Wal Mart. Who the hell wants to move to Bentonville, Arkansas?
