Where do people come up with those great little inventions anyways?

I mean... multi-colored shaped rubber bands, and they a billion of the damn things.
 
Figure they sold a million units minimum. That's five million income. The norm is around half the figure is actually for the end retailer. So 2.5 million to the production company. Whoever came up with those must've made a hundred grand.
