It's alright. Hetfield's vocals sounds bad, but way better than I expected. I agree with the comments that it seems unfinished. I really wish they'd all start drinking again. Nothing good can come of a clean and sober band.

This is the truth my friend.

An ex-coworker of mine said that James should get back on the drugs because their crap they put out recently, sucks.

It's way better than anything on St Anger.

It's very 'Load'.

Which isn't nessesarily a bad thing.

St. Anger would be a number of times better if they went and remixed it with a legitimate bass track and redone drums. There are a few songs in there that really pound...they just have no meat to them. Frantic and Dirty Window are two very energetic songs along with the power of "Some Kind of Monster" that are just weak shells of what they could be.

The accompanying DVD with the album was mixed a lot more "full" and was considerably better than the studio cut album.

I don't want my music to pound meat, maybe thats why i could never get into metallica.

It's like seeing Superman reduced to doing infomercials.

Could be worse, could be Cake.

It sounds like they're trying to recapture the feeling from the Unforgiven. It's too bad Lars has forgotten how to play the drums.

Forgotten? I never thought he knew how to play in the first place.

Cyanide pretty much kicked ass for me. Still a little excessive on the wah at times, but I liked it enough to give a back to back listen.

I love Cake but it seems fans are few and far between :)

At least Cake hasn't put out any shitty records, can't say the same of Metallica ;)

I wish Hetfield's voice was gruffer, like the "good 'ol days," but I think that's just an age issue. He's 20 years older now, we can't expect MoP quality :(

I did like the ending solo.

maybe that was the problem. I actually changed the station in the middle of the song because it was so boring.

Hetfield's singing ability is gone.

This album is straight off the Load album with a wannabe Master of Puppets solo thrown in that doesn't even fit the song.

Hetfield's voice is gone. Not much growl left.

And I'm glad to hear that awful snare from St Anger is gone....hopefully it got burned.

I only heard the end (no singing) on the radio last night and my first thought was "sounds like they are trying to bring back some of the Master of Puppets feel". However, after reading some of the responses, especially the beginning of the song, I'm probably wrong on that assessment. I guess I only go to hear the good part.

The beginning of the song really reminded me of Classical Gas. I also felt it sounded unfinished.

Uh, is this a demo? It sounds like shit. James vocal quality seems too raw for a final mix and Lars drumming is still horrible.

I think it's awesome, I won't be stuck up and automatically dismiss them to be cool on ATOT. I liked the opening and probably the only part I didn't like was the "love is a 4 letter world part".
