16gb of flash storage is pretty good, better battery life and not fragile like HDD units makes it teh winnar for me.

It isn't crap for most people. I'm willing to bet that 95% of people who have ipods dont use more than a couple gigs of storage on them.

I have a 40 gig harddrive on my laptop (the only computer I currently have), and I am still only using 25 gigs of storage on it after 3 years of owning it.

aye...not everyone needs EVERYTHING with them at all times.

I currently have a library approaching 120GB, and with my 4GB nano I was always fine. Different strokes...

The fact is not everyone needs EVERYTHING with them.

Although going on a trip with 160GB of movies would've been tight with that larger screen...🙁

the itunes buying on the go will fvkign rock...I don't there isn't a person alive who hasn't heard a song they love and wouldn't buy it on the spot...best off, is that they set it up without any special partnerships, so any future partnerships (people at a concert get a discount if they buy now etc) will be $$ i nthe bank for them...

I'm still waiting for the "iPod uber"--widescreen, touchscreen, wifi, 80GB+, 6 hours of video on one charge.

Actually, that's a good point. I gotta look at the iPhone dissection article on Anandtech again, because I don't remember if Apple used a single chip wifi+bluetooth solution or if they are separate. If single-chip, than there's no excuse really.

Using rtsp I am sure you can hack the thing to receive streams😀

I doubt the music store preview feature isn't rtsp anyway😛

+ with that google app you could change the playlists as well😀

I never understood people's obsession with this...what are you expecting, Jobs to dig up Lennon and Harrison and parade their corpses on stage with Ringo and McCartney, then sell the video of it on iTMS? A yellow waterproof iPod? New Abbey Road album cover with silhouttes dancing across the crosswalk?

Obviously they aren't releasing any new music, if you're even the most casual Beatles fan, you already own their music, and if you own an mp3 player of any sort, it's probably on there in digital form...what am I missing?!

I had a 4 gig mini that died on me literally days after my 1 year warranty. Those conceited fuckers at the "genius bar" told me I was SOL and tried to sell me a new one full price, wouldn't even offer me a discount for trading my old one in that was obviously defective. I sold my mini on eBay to some moron who paid almost what they could have bought a refurb mini from apple and bought a creative zen micro. The interface is bad. I really wish someone besides apple would come out with a player that I liked so I don't have to swallow my pride and buy another ipod.
 
i wish you could just get a damned data plan with it so i can go on the internet at all times for like $20/mon 😛
