Despite reading and watching all the reviews about the 5600X, I'm not convinced it's the best choice for me. I'm building a new gaming PC around a high FPS 1440p monitor and 3080-class GPU. I was leaning towards the 10600K, and thought the 5600X would be the new sweet spot, but I'm not so sure anymore. Performance at 1440p across most games seems to be the same even with cheaper CPUs such as the 3600 or 10400 in the picture.
I'd love to continue to use an old XFX 750W PSU, so if the higher efficiency of the 5600X will make this possible vs. using a 10600K, then the extra expense of buying the AMD chip will be more than offset by the savings on the PSU.
Thoughts?
