Well, the neighbor is leaving for Kentucky for the weekend, and since I'm watching his dogs for him, I'm gonna "watch" his PCs for the weekend too! :D Couple of 1.6GHz P4s should help for a few days at least. ;)

Updated:

The friend is getting this:

Antec Sonata Case
Abit IC7
512 (2x256) Corsair XMS (non-LL) PC3200
ATI Radeon 9600XT
P4 2.6Ghz
Lite-on 16X DVD
80GB WD "special Edition" HD

The rest is being scrapped from another pc. That is $813. My friends spending limit was $800 for a *beast gaming rig*

I could've gone AMD and saved some money(not alot, only about 80 bucks) but he wanted Intel. oh well, either way that pc should be good for 11+ Wu/day. only problem is shipping will take a few days w/ Thanksgiving :( :( :( :(

AMD64 3200+ is completing a WU in 1:40 now that I am not pounding at the keyboard and installing all my programs.

viper6, I don't understand something.

These are your last six completed WUs with that system. Pretty damn impressive. :)

Yet your average CPU for this machine is 4 hours 39 minutes for the 37 WUs this machine has completed?

Pounding the keyboard would not explain the difference?

I'm not sure why that matters if he's finishing WU's that quickly anyways. :)

He has 6 machines crunching Greg, that is why his average is what it is. ( click on the stats link in his sig.)

I understand about the six computers. Look at the following and you'll understand what I'm asking about. ;)

Name RPD RY RT Avg CPU Last Result Wu Pend

AMD64 3200+ 4.22 4 6 4h34m 41m39s 3

P4 1.6GHZ 2.00 0 2 5h02m 3h35m 3

AMD 1.7GHZ 3.42 3 1 6h38m 2h18m 2

P3 933MHZ 1.71 2 0 6h50m 20h46m 2

P3 800MHZ 3.00 3 1 7h46m 3h48m 5

P3 733 1.00 0 0 8h38m 3d 14h35m 2

Totals: 15.35 12 10 6h12m 17

Not a big deal, I was just curious. ;)

Over 17 days, sounds like a lot of time not crunching while setting up his machine. Wish i had one of those

Quad eh? I'd LOVE to see how many units that one is gonna crank out!

Edit: Why do I have a feeling Anandtech is going to singlehandedly cause another power grid crash nationwide?

Quick look at SetiSpy:

59% into the current WU (5.X AR)
3.51 cycles per flop
4 hours 39 minutes total CPU time

So I'm guessing 3-6 WUs per day (depending on AR) per processor so 12-24 WUs per day.

Oh, you might want to re-read my sig :)

Actually, What happened, was I took down my P4 1.6 machine, renamed it, and brought up the AMD64 using the old name of the P4 1.6. When I connected to setiqueue, it of course assumed that I was still running from the same box and just kept assigning wu's to that queue since setiqueue tracks clients by there computer name. The AMD "inherited" the completed WU's and the stats from the P4 1.6. Now, the P4 starts at 0 wu's again.

That's why the average is so WHACKED!! :D

Hope that explains it.

That should counter the quad from that BBR guy.

Is that P4 2.6GHz an HT version?

B52GUNR <---is cheeky git;):p

I've got 2 Duron 1.4GHz DDR rigs here I've just built for a friend & work college ,I'll run SETI on them as soon as I can borrow an old Duron or Pal XP to flash the bios. They don't boot atm.
rolleye.gif
(hmm maybe I could ring my mate now & borrow a cpu?).

Btw ,does anyone here know if these 1.4GHz Durons (Tbred cores) will take a 33% o/c straight off? ,that's 1.86GHz which I know a Tbred B core will take easily:evil:

*me goes off to phone friend* ;)

P4 2.4 ghz, 1 gig RAM added... will update with WU per hour shortly...

can anyone fill me in on the details of what the future holds for SETI at home? I have done WU for them (no group until now) for about a year... is SETI@Home going away?
