SO I've heard on the radio the last couple days that Alice In Chains will be releasing a new cd this summer with a new lead singer. He's apparently been touring with them, and sounds a lot like Layne. But seriously...DO NOT WANT. If Jerry C. had taken over the vocals I might've been able to stomach it.....but seriously....wtf are they thinking?

yep, album's been in works for awhile now. couple years ago saw them live with william duvall, their new singer, in an unplugged concert. he's a really good singer, great show, but not expecting much of this album.

Probably that they still want to tour and make money, and doing so as AIC is the best way any of them can do it?

I have all the respect in the world for JC on guitar, writing, and backup vocals but I could never get into his solo stuff.

Other than that /agree. Re-animate Layne or move on :music:

I've seen them live, they opened up for Velvet Revolver.

The singer kicks ass.

I'm a diehard AIC fan. More AIC is good! RIP Layne but life goes on.

They still rock. I am all for new AIC.

Other bands have gone on with a different lead singer, why not them?

Drowning Pool comes to mind...

Agreed. I don't know enough about AIC, but was Layne a writer for the band? If Pink Floyd could carry on without Syd and Genesis without Peter Gabriel, then why not AIC? Not every band should follow the agreement that the members of Joy Division/New Order made.

Saw them live doing an acoustic set and I thought they were great, even with the new singer. Although JC did the majority of the singing for the show.

I've never understood why people can't accept that a band wants to move on. Yes, appreciate what they did before and that's fine, but just because Layne died doesn't mean they're not allowed to make music anymore. Get over it.

I too saw them live last year and really was impressed with the singer, who was doing his own thing but doing it in a way that made everything still sound familiar. If they think they can still come up with some good new stuff, then more power to them.

i agree hardcore

more AIC > no more AIC

their material is usually kick ass.... Jar of Flies and their last album (with the 3-legged dog on the cover)... awesome. it is most of the original band except for the singer... just seems like too good of an opportunity to pass up IMO.

LOL, I love how people are already judging an album (and band!) that they haven't even heard yet. Only at ATOT...

You guys make a good point.. I'll give the new guy a shot, but I still miss you Layne *sniff sniff* He WASAIC, but JC is very talented in his own right.

Hey the new lead for Journey didn't turn out too bad either 😉
