I think the patterns on US BDU's need to be tighter and smaller. The current German BDU is made up of dots (nickle or quater sized I think) and it does a better job of "breaking up" the form/outline of a persons body than US BDU's do IMO. A few years ago I was on a train in Germany and there were a few German soliders, wearing BDU's, sitting a across the isle and a row up. one of the guys was facing me had his arms crossed in his lap and I couldn't make out where his sleeve stopped and his jacket began. Granted the light was a bit dim (inside of a train on a cloudy German day) but still that was some effective looking camo.

Personally, i think the other services are going to change their woodland design because the USMC changed THEIRS, and it's all about oneupmanship here. Granted, I think OUR uniforms are ugly, too, but at least they're effective for camouflage, which, unlike some of the other branches, we actually NEED when we deploy. (you don't need camouflage much when you're staying in hotels)

And what's up with the other services and their silly berets? Why even wear cammies? That's like us wearing the cammie bottoms and our dress coat on top.
Yeah, the AF is ripping off the USMC cover block design, but its still better than what they have now.
