If you don't slide then they're just easier finger tapping notes, they work the same but if you miss one you don't have to strum again before you start tapping.

OK, this is still rumor status, but it's HUGE if true. Wired claims they have a mole which reveals a Queen 10-pack coming for Rock Band DLC in October (recall that Harmonix has already announced that Queen is coming), plus the fact that We Will Rock You/We are the Champions will be in Lego Rock Band AND that Lego Rock Band will export to the Rock Band platform! There's even more info than that, check out this article:

Well, the rumors are flying today. Now there's a furor going on about someone at Nintendo leaking the DLC one week in advance. The rumored DLC for next Tuesday includes the Rock Band Unplugged tracks, which would make sense as next Tuesday marks 3 months from the RBU release. Here's the rumored list:

3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
AFI - Miss Murder
Audioslave - Gasoline
Freezepop - Get Ready 2 Rokk
Freezepop - Less Talk More Rokk
Freezepop - Science Genius Girl
Jackson 5 - ABC
Jonathan Coulton - Re: Your Brains
MC Frontalot - Origin of Species
Paul and Storm - Opening Band

Here's a real stupid question... when we download songs, are they sung by the actual artists or are they covers? I've always though they were the actual artists but my girlfriend insists they are not. The 2 Fleetwood Mac songs for example do not sound like the singers at all.

Happy to see the Lego Rockband songs will be exportable. I don't mind paying the fee, I love having close to 200 songs to select when we play.

Older songs MIGHT be covers. You can tell because the Artist is "As Made Famous By..." All songs have been masters since Rock Band 2 was released (almost a year ago), I believe.

The Fleetwood Mac songs are masters, so that is actually Fleetwood Mac. It might have been mixed differently than you remember, since they have to remix the tracks to get the guitar, bass, drums and vocals to stand out when those respective parts are being played by the players.

i think he was just confused by the fact that stevie nicks sounds a barnyard animal that needs to be put out of its misery.

there have been very few covers. if you look here-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_band_dlc

you can see that only a few of the early songs were covers...and they were pretty good, anyway, aside from a couple terrible geddy lee impressions, which they fixed.

Yeah that Tom Sawyer cover always bothered me, fortunately we have the master now. That is the only song I've deleted from my RB1 import.

Oh and I like Stevie Nicks. :p

The only thing that bothers me about the bad Rush covers is that they released the master tracks, but you have to buy them for full price. If you have the covers of Tom Sawyer and Limelight on your hard drive, it should give you like half off of the masters and then delete the covers from your drive. I have the covers as well, but I don't feel like spending $4 just to get the "right" tracks. :(

You cannot "import" Unplugged tracks but all of them are coming out as DLC (they have to be purchased though). Only 3 unplugged tracks remain to be released for RB (see the OP), they will probably come out soon. As R Nilla said, you cannot import The Beatles.

This seems a little strange so soon after the release of an AFI single (Miss Murder), but according to this news article, five more AFI songs are coming to Rock Band in October.

According to this Billboard article, Pearl Jam's new album will be available for Rock Band as soon as it is released on September 20th.

"Backspacer" will also be available on "Rock Band" the day it comes out, and Target has an exclusive on an edition of the album featuring access to download its songs for "Rock Band" on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. It's a precursor to a dedicated Pearl Jam game that could hit stores in 2010. Although MTV wouldn't confirm details, fan input is already being solicited on PearlJam.com to determine which live versions of songs from the band's catalog will be included.

It's not clear if this will be the 9/22 DLC, or if it is being handled specially, but PJ fans should be pretty happy about this. I really hope that the "dedicated PJ game" they are talking about is just some kind of track pack (e.g. AC/DC), because I just don't see the need for a whole PJ game.

There's a little more info now. Target will be selling this limited edition CD for $30 which includes a download code for Rock Band. It's still unclear whether or not this is also replacing the 9/22 DLC.

The official Backspacer announcement is out, and it does replace the 9/22 DLC, though the schedule is a little odd this week since the Xbox DLC will be available on Sunday, 9/20 with the album release.

Hey everybody,

If you got the newsletter you are already in the know, but for the sake of getting everybody on the same page - next week's DLC is Pearl Jam's new album Backspacer. This one has an interesting release schedule - it will be on 360 this Sunday to coincide with the release of the album, the 22nd on Wii, and the 24th on PS3 per usual. We also have a track from Megadeth and a track from The Fratelli's coming for PSP. Enjoy!

Pearl Jam is an American band that became one of the precursors of alternative rock after forming in Seattle in 1990. Made up of Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron, the band has sold more than 60 million records around the globe. The band hit mainstream success after the release of its 1991 debut album, Ten, which sold 12 million copies worldwide. Ten became available for download in the Rock Band Music Store day-and-date with the reissue of the album March 24, 2009, and has sold more than 850,000 song downloads to date.

The band?s ninth and latest studio album, Backspacer, will be released in stores Sept. 20 and will be added to the Rock Band Music Store for Xbox 360 on Sept. 20, for Wii on Sept. 22 and for PlayStation 3 on Sept 24. Pearl Jam is touring in promotion of the new album from August through October in the United States and Europe.

In addition, Pearl Jam will offer a special edition CD set at Target stores nationwide that will include the Backspacer album disc and a code that enables owners of the special edition to download the entire album for Rock Band or Rock Band 2 gameplay for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The tracks will be imported into participating fans? Rock Band libraries and be accessible to all game modes, including solo, band play, online multiplayer and instrument vs. instrument.

Available on Xbox 360 (Sept. 20), Wii (Sept. 22) & PlayStation 3 system (Sept. 24):

? ?Gonna See My Friend?

I just got word that Alice in Chains has announced that they have a DLC pack coming out on 9/29 consisting of:

"A Looking In View"
"Check My Brain"
"No Excuses"
"Rooster"
"Would?"

While this is not an official Harmonix announcement, this makes sense since "Would?" is still due from the Rock Band Unplugged DLC.

Possible leak of next week's DLC - still rumor status, but this leak may share its ultimate source with a previously accurate leak, and The Raconteurs are known to be scheduled for October, so it's plausible. If true I'm really happy about the Alanis songs.

Alanis Morissette - Head Over Feet
Alanis Morissette - Ironic
Electric Six - Dance Epidemic
Electric Six - Gay Bar
Electric Six - I Don't Like You
Flobots - Handlebars
The Raconteurs - Many Shades of Black
The Raconteurs - Salute Your Solution
The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes

As I suspected, the leak was accurate. More Alanis for me! :)

GOOD MORNING!

This week we have some DLC that will doubtlessly be a hit at parties. Seriously. First off we have The Raconteurs (you are looking at huge Brendan Benson fan right here - seriously listen to the album One Mississippi and tell me he's not a genius). We also have two big hits from the Alanis Morissette catalog, a debut hit from the Flobots, and three from the Electric Six (who have been really highly requested as of late). For RBU we have a track from Green Day and anotehr from Rush. ENJOY!

-Sean

We've got an early announcement of the Queen 10-pack slated for this month! Coming on 10/20:

Another One Bites the Dust
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
One Vision
Fat Bottomed Girls
I Want It All
I Want to Break Free
Killer Queen
Somebody to Love
Tie Your Mother Down
Under Pressure

Keep in mind that We are the Champions and We Will Rock You are slated for Lego Rock Band (which is rumored to be exportable). I cannot wait to play this pack, Queen is awesome.

bleh. there are queen songs that are so much better than many of those. and i'm personally astonished that anyone would ever want to play we are the champions or we will rock you.

but maybe that's just me. songs i've heard eight billion times that weren't even very good the first time are not my cup of tea. the best songs are those with skilled musicians playing interesting parts (not that i'm implying queen is bad, just making a general statement). i'd take a pleasant surprise from an unknown over a boring radio song anyday.
