Given it's on Fox it won't get a second season. And will be aired out of order.

It isn't meant to have a second season. It is a 13 episode one shot deal and that is how it was planned.

Also Fox is airing the show but no control over the content of the show.

30 minutes until I get to see the first episode! I'm in the theater right now!

I realize it's just a documentary, but please try to avoid major spoilers if you can. I'd like to have a little bit of awe left for this Sunday.:)

The sun is going to die in a few billion years.

Where's that spoiler button?

So I'll just post a quick thoughts since I don't want to spoil anything.

First off as a nonspoiler it truly is an appropriate successor to the original. I'll leave it at that with a hint to keep an eye out for a couple very famous Sagan lines ;)

Onward, a couple JJ Abrams lens flare moments but they weren't distracting IMHO.

The score was really really well done, soaring at times, subdued as needed.

The graphics and animated sections were incredible. The graphics especially were well done and really imbued a sense of scale and wonderment.

Tyson really knocked it out of the park, he definitely channels Sagan so well. There were two moments that brought me and my girlfriend to tears.

I want to say more but I won't spoil anything here but I loved it. Simply loved it. Filled me with awe, wonder, joy, tears, and happiness.

Also wanted to point out that like the original as well it doesn't shy away from pointing out religious bad behavior going so far at one point of calling the Inquisition "the thought police." (No disagreement from me on that) There are a couple other examples but again I'm trying to not spoil everything.

/win. I have such a man crush on NGT.

I hate him. He's so proud of playing a part in dethroning Pluto as a planet. Probably the only thing he'll ever do in the field of science besides tell stories about real/working scientists.

I believe he's just a planetarium director.. how cool is that? pfft... punk.

Now that I've had a day to digest it I gotta tell you even if I posted spoilers and I won't. I doubt it in any way would decrease the wonderment and awe. And particularly how the first episode ends my girlfriend and I both choked up and almost cried again just talking about it....just so good.

On an different note but still important Ann Druyan who is Sagans widow stated in the webcast post episode that she and the other producers made it part of the deal that the network could not cut anything unsavory out at all.
