Need ideas for self defense weapons to carry/keep inside cars.

No guns, samurai swords suggestions please.
I mean things that are realistic, I currently have a old golf club inside my car for self defense reasons and would walk home with the club late at night from my car to my building if I parked too far away, a mag-light in my glove box.

What else can you guys recommend? My neighborhood is pretty bad and I can't move to another place at the moment.

 
A nice big (3 or four D-cell) maglight under my seat and a bucknife in the driverside door pocket for me.
 
Wallet with realistic counterfeit cash. Give to thugs when held up. A safe alternative to fighting back when outnumbered or underpowered.

One of those collapsible batons (a nice, long one), in addition to a shiny knife can be good to scare away the "casual" thief. Use with caution, because you really don't want someone deciding to call our bluff (or even if you aren't bluffing) with a gun or knife.

Thats a good idea, I can use a old wallet and put like 10 bucks in singles and some pennies inside.

Because any would-be thug obviously wouldn't check you for other crap you may be hiding. Like your real wallet.

unless that thug were reading this thread, it's highly unlikely they wouldn't fall for the bait. They don't want to be around you any longer than necessary since that would increase the odds of being caught.

I don't know how it is in Texas, but in NYC most of the time the person is looking for a quick steal and won't bother searching a person. Added two weapons to my post above in case the OP is looking for a deterrent.
 
Those types of predators can smell fear. The biggest thing you can do to protect yourself is carry yourself with confidence and a little bit of attitude. That's half the battle.
