Nothing says "Stop, back away immediately" like a drawn firearm.

Right, a bludgeoning weapon is not a good self defense weapon, nor any type of knife.

A hand gun and lots of practice/training is the only real effective self defense weapon. There are people out there that will shrug off a golf club to the arm because they are just big and can take that kind of damage. I couple of well placed .45s will stop anyone. Also, a licensed carrier is far more likely to not have any legal ramifications for defending themselves. If you attack a guy with a golf club or baseball bat at night, a good attorney can argue that you were being malicious in that it should have only taken 1 strike to defend yourself, where as you hit the person multiple times.

Glock 23 in a IWB holster. Not a .45, but the .40 still packs some punch.

I carry a Louisville Slugger underneath my seat.

That's not a bad idea actually. Just make sure you keep a baseball glove with it in case a cop asks you about it. You could say that you play on a league at work or school and that you had practice that day. Same goes for carrying it from your car to your home, just make sure you carry the glove with it. If you're going out at night just carry the bat and glove with you. You could always say you have practice tomorrow and you're just putting it in your car so you don't forget later.

Dildo. Pull it out and start sucking on it if you are about to be attacked or robbed. The criminal will most likely run away.

Get a (hollow) metal handled one and fill it with a JB Weld like substances... I likes!

I have a 2C maglite underneath my ebrake handle.

The best defense is being able to run fast like forrest gump. Just practice running away... screamming also works; the more you scream like a girl, the more the peple will leave you alone...

A giant 4D cell Maglite is a superior option because it is useful and lethal. No cop would ever blink an eye at a flashlight in your car, but a crowbar or even a tire iron is a weapon if it isn't in your trunk.
