Arggg. This is really frustrating. It is expressing symptoms of temperature related, however all my temperatures seem normal. I run HWMonitor and all of the temperatures seem normal. GPU is about 55 degC. And my CPU temps are around 29-41DegC.

When I turn on my computer for the first time this evening, it ran fine, the. After about 15 mins it cut off. I turns back on and ties to boot, but won't even get back to windows before it cuts off again. I tried several times and the same thing happens each time. I then let 20 minutes pass, and I try again. This time, it works, I boot to windows. I was able to use the computer for about 3 minutes, checking my temperatures with HWMonitor, everything looks normal, then it cuts off again, then back to booting and cutting off. Essentially, the longer I leave it, the more usage time I get out of it before it cuts out

Could this be corrupt memory? I pulled all my memory sucks yesterday and it worked after that, then I reinstalled them in pairs and it continue working.

My CPU is water cooled and I have 6 fans in the case, and I don't over clock.

Forgive me, but could U pls start your own thread re yr issues in yr system?

Cause you are now hijacking someone else's thread, and that is unfair, forget, you are asking members who R trying to help the OP, turn their focus on you and your issues, AND THAT IS INCONSIDERATE....tho sorry U are having them.

My psu should be able to handle 2 gpu's thats why I got it

But, given all I just took the time to try to learn and UNDERSTAND....and posted, that fact ALONE, don mean you chose the right unit!

Systems are entities comprising many components. And they must all go together properly and each be the right one within its genre for the whole rig as a properly integrated whole. For me, that is the real challenge of building a custom rig. It's also why I never regret depending of professional engineers re my big Optiplexes....I choose carefully, then, just upgrade and fiddle.

Please, I found and linked U to the most amazing, detailed PSU calculator ever....I just used it myself re this system. Can U just pls go there and fill in the fields? Everything has a drop down menu, U dop have to FILL IN anything you just choose and click.....it is so meticulously done. Parts are beautifully writtten re the drop down menus based on yr SOCKET.

Why wouldn't you do this? It could yield some WICKED IMPORTANT DATA.

Go there, fill in the fields accurately and completely by just clicking, hit calculate, and see what it comes up with
.

I feel and empathize with yr frustration and yr petulance, but getting stuck in the latter is not helping you move forward, troubleshoot and put thing RIGHT.

K, final offering, cause frustration is kickin in:

I used the PSU calculator using yr system specs to the extent I COULD. Yr socket is 2011 LGA, yr chipset is Intel Z77 Xpress, yr chip is 130W,tho I din really need the last 2.

I was missing some elements only you can provide, esp re you list only one graphics card and U said you have two, so I hadda guess re the second, and I had no clue re yr exact RAM configuration and they want that.... but I did the best I could, and the result was, it seems your PSU should be adequate, given:

Minimum PSU Wattage:573 W Recommended
PSU Wattage:
*
6.gif
2.gif
3.gif
w.gif

Recommended PSU:

BUT, again, I din have the info on everything they ask for to determine yr power needs, despite what I looked up re socket, etc. Only YOU DO.

Using this calculator, but with ALL the necessary info, would be a no brainer, and I again, urge you to do it!

Yes according to all test.swap the psu.

Oddly, I got notification of the OP's post U respond to, but I can't find it.

I wanna know the specifics: what did he switch it FROM?

No question, something PSU related going on here.

I am back to the RAIL issue.

And when you say SWAP....WHAT DO YOU MEAN? You mean, he should get a more powerful PSU?

AND, the possibility the PSU is adequate but defective and he should RMA it...remains.

That psu looks like is defect

O!!!!!! If so, that is HUGELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

Thank God this setup is new and he does have the option to RMA the PSU. If he does, he should CALL AND DEMAND A TESTED REPLACEMENT.

I MEAN IT.

O!! I forgot about the clicking! I was so mesmerized by the visuals! Plus, U sure the clicking wasn't the pump?????

I just remembered when I was using the PSU calculator, I din key in 6 FANS....which I just saw he has, I think I chose 3 or 4. I wasn't sure if the three just on the GPU I know about counted as 3. Forget, I had no clue about his second card.

So had I done it accurately, maybe the app would have produced a different result. I still wish he would use that app himself.....supplying all the accurate info only he is privy to.

Pretty crazy-making stuff this is.

Okay so I finally got the computer to crash. I was playing sleeping dogs for over 3 hours straight. Finally quit and looked at the stats on msi afterburner. The temperature was normal, but I saw a max power of 97%. When the computer was at idle is more around 47% I started browsing the internet and then 3 minutes after closing the game the computer crashed. I immediately removed 1 of the ssd power ribbons and nothing. Then I unplugged the whole cable from the psu. Still nothing. I unplugged the pump as well. It booted. Not wanting to overheat the cpu I shut it down and plugged the pump back in. It booted. After it was starting to boot I plugged the ssd cable in and then it crashed. So I unplugged it again and then booted it and got to the overclock failed screen. I reloaded my bios profile and then restarted it and plugged the ssd cable back at the bios screen and I was able to get it to boot.

K.....you have either an INADEQUATE PSU or a defective one. Next step is determining which.

NO! psu 99.9%:sneaky:

:D That was really cute, the 99.9!!!!

Also, waaaay helpful!():)

My immediate take was PSU.....now, only 27 pages later, we are full circle.:\

I now despise this PSU so much, I think he should demand not a tested replacement, but a REFUND, so he can get something even more powerful and more RELIABLE.

Did you demand a TESTED ONE?

I think I need need refined carbs now.:sneaky:

PS: I know it will be close to impossible, but I wish you would just shut down the system and leave it until the new, maybe less disgusting one arrives. Do not risk messing anything up. I mean it. Cause all this has been stressing the system for sure.
