They can make me upload a gig for all I care, I dont' see why it takes them 1/2 a second after I start the torrent for me to be sending 30kb out and it takes 5 minutes before they connect me to someone sending over 5.Originally posted by: rh71
Why would you care about how much you upload as long as it's coming to you ? I think mine ended up being 224MB downloaded and 350MB uploaded. It's not like it's costing you anything.Originally posted by: PoPPeRdownloaded: 10 megs uploaded: 17 megs blehOriginally posted by: rh71Torrent ?Originally posted by: PoPPeR any other mirrors? Great summary. The Drag is what sold me on this game. I hate the fact of the crossing cars and the stupid jump over the train at the end (in the PS2 demo anyway), so I'm hoping they'll have some drag levels without all the extra crap, and just focusing on shifting.Originally posted by: rh71
Just played the demo for a bit. This game is a ricer's dream. You can't do it in the demo, but it's advertising how you can upgrade licensed parts with everything from neon underbodies to whatever else ricers do to soup up their ride. They mentioned quite a few things under the hood too - but I'm no car junkie.
From the get-go... I felt I was lining up in that Fast and The Furious scene. 350Z all set to go. The gameplay was pretty loose... much less "strict" as in previous NFS'... the audio was great... even makes the NOS sounds when you trigger it.
There was a DRAG mode... which can get pretty intense. The screen shakes as you barrel down the street against four other ricers in a straightaway that requires you to shift at the right time while avoiding cars coming from the sidestreets. One mistake... and you're "TOTALED!"
I think this one will do better than the rice-haters would like... I know I'll be checking out the full version when it becomes available.

That's a pissant car list. GT3 destroyed it. Still, it may be a good game and nfS series is generally good (except for when they flirted with arcade physics in either 3 or 4.)
not to forget the "wonderfull" 2fast2ridicule jump over the bridge and the 80ies arcade drag mode...Originally posted by: NFS4

Wait - wait - wait a second. There's a race game with realistic damage modelling? TITLE! NOW! All I've ever seen out of a driving game is no damage (Virtually everything) and too much damage (GTA3). Vice City comes much closer to realistic damage modelling - but the cars will still take a lot more than they should before exploding (Also very unrealistic - they should sit there and burn for awhile, or just become undrivable because you've ripped the engine to shreds and/or been driving on rims for the past 20 miles) Although there is a certain pleasure to be derived from sliding sideways down a street at 90MPH with all your tires popped, hitting a police roadblock and doing a triple backflip... But it isn't realistic.

I think the handling is fine. It's arcadey, just like it should be. I'm not sure if the control feels different from the PS2 Dualshock and a PC (I'm sure it does), but I don't mind the controls at all. They're very accessible to begineers, which is what I think they are going for.Originally posted by: Luagsch

You could do that with Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed.and it a great addition to tweak your car under the hood.

That is STILL the best of the series IMHO. The original was excellent as well.
True, you can't beat the original one. I have fond memories of first seeing that game on a mint 3D0 demo system at Best Buy. I fell in love, but my parents weren't about to spring the $700 some-odd dollars for the thing.Originally posted by: NFS4

And that game had the alternate-angle jump over "bridges" and what-not slow-mo as well...Originally posted by: NFS4

Hmm... I played HP2 too so I can't say for absolute sure... I just remember the airborne cutscenes... (alternate angle scenes for a few secs) and it was with fainted/old yellow-colored cars... which were common in Porsche Unleashed...Originally posted by: NFS4

No it didn't!! Porsche Unleashed had alternate routes, but no jumping over bridges or slow-mo crap. Maybe you're thinking of NFS: HP2
