Despite people liking the NFS series more, I'm probably the only one who is severely disappointed. The thing that pisses me off the most is that fact that damage models are missing. I just can't stand crashing into something and not have the car damaged one bit! Also the advertisements before the game is done loading is fricken annoying, it seems the game has lost touch with it's roots and my steering wheel doesn't work too well with it anymore. I just don't feel like I'm driving anymore, yes NFS2 Hot pursuit was a large disappointment because the steering wheel was like pressing the arrow key on the keyboard, same with the gas pedals. You press the gas and it maxes out, same with steering which really ruins the experience. Even NFS3 had very good association with the gas pedal and steering wheel. It was so realistic, pressing on the gas slightly didn't revv up the engine to the max like in the more recent versions. I played NFS because it was the closest simulator to GT series on the PS2 that I know of. I know the physics where kind of out of whack but I STILL find the series fun to play. The Underground series is just a very big disappointment, it saddens me where the series has gone. It's not the whole atmosphere of the game or anything, I like it a lot but it seems the game has been dumbed down so it's just GAS, Brake, Left and Right. Nice graphics, but disappointing physics, no damage models, ads before the game, too dumbed down/simplified UGH!
