Well it's finally out... I love the free roaming... the outrun is a nice touch... and there's more ways to customize than the original. I just picked up the IS300... one good thing about it is you can't fly through the game... they make you work long and hard at each stage. The sounds are phenomenal so far. Can't wait to hear the roar of the G35 engine...

ah yes, the g35. Such a beautiful car. The 350z may have 10 more horses and be lighter and a bit quicker 0-60. But man, the g35 is beautiful. I don't understand how someone could waste the cash on a pos boxter, when they could have a g35 for less.

Lol! There are just so many games. I was in BB today, and I was it. I was SO close to picking it up. How does the race system work? You drive around town and park next to some guys in order to start a race?

There are points on the map that will show you where the races are. Just drive up to the point and there you go. You can even select a certain race on the map screen and activate the GPS system and you'll have an arrow on the screen showing you which direction to go.

1. the v6 engine made by infiniti aka nissan is considered the best made period. They have won this award for MANY years running now from the AJAC. The v6 variant in the g35 coupe is a highly tuned model of this. so no, the g35 has a better engine.
2. these are sports cars and as far as performance goes, the g35 is a faster 0-60 car as well as 0-100, quarter mile and so on. this really counts as far as sports cars go, in case you were wondering.

3. the g35 looks great, the boxter looks like a 911 hatchet job. it really does look like a 'wannabe' porsche and its performace is definately 'wannabe' compared to a real porsche.
4.it may be a bit more comfy inside. who cares. when it comes to sports cars, in case you didn't know, ideas of comfort are not important.
5. as to the better pedigree, well that is a consideration for media-slaved folks who believe a label improves them. its a farce. the boxter is made exactly for these brainwashed people, who want to own a porsche but cant afford the real deal so get a boxter.
6. the g35 is a better car.

This is not an ideal comparison.
The Boxster is a sports car, the G35 is not. By definition a sports car is a two seater. End of story.
I love the G35 but if I had to pick or the other, I?d pick the Boxster.
Of course, a G35 is half the price of a Boxster S.

best racign game of its type I have ever played PERIOD.. its so much fun i got carpal tunnel playing ti for 3 days straight... Man I wish my USB/Xbox controller connector would come in...

this game is freaking awesome...

uses the crap outa advanced features of my 6800GT
and is gorgeous at 1600x1280 with evertyhing turned on..
and with the Xbox controller to USB connector you can use your Xbox controller on the PC..

Do the opponent cars still cheat? I remember in the first NFSU the opponent cars would cheat like crazy.

Ex. You slam the lead car into a wall and he stops dead while you keep on going. You run the rest of the circuit perfectly. At the end of the race you see that the car you slammed into the wall earlier was only like 1 second behind you when you crossed the finish.
Ex. 2. I had a cheat that allowed me to accelerate my car from 0 to 300+ in literally one second. The downside is that the cheat would sometimes "catch" an opponent's car instead of your own. In those cases I've seen computer cars make 90 degree turns at 300mph without hitting the sides.

Cheating cars would ruin the game for me.

naw the AI is pretty darn good now...
i havent seen that crap.. your mods and your car can now be better than the AIs
so if your car is just super super hot (like my 560HP Rx7) you can literally leave the AI in the dust..

No matter what, the Boxster has one clear advantage, you can go topless. Having been a convertible owner, this is the ticket to bliss.

The Boxster has always been one of my favorite vehicles. Sadly, the price has risen dramatically.
The G35 is a better value. But it is a sporty coupe, not a sports car.
You really can't go wrong with either.

Oh and faster does not equal better.
A Neon SRT-4 is fast but is that really a good car? A performance bargain to be sure but that's not my idea of a good car.
