Lamest superhero since The Submariner.

I beg to differ:

Arm Fall Off Boy

Ah, that crazy Legion of Superheroes and their crazy writers! They’ll let heroes with some of the stupidest powers into the Legion, but they pass up a great character like Arm Fall Off Boy. Arm Fall Off Boy is an oddity all his own because although he only made one appearance in a comic book ever (Secret Origins #46 [1989]), his appearance was so memorable that he has a cult following to this day.

Arm Fall Off Boy made an apperance at a Legion of Superheroes recruitment drive where he displayed his “astounding” power to Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy. His power? To detach his left arm from his body and use it as a club. Sadly, Arm Fall Off Boy was surprised when the Legion let him know that his talents weren’t quite right for their organization. Arm Fall Off Boy sulked away into comic book oblivion, but was not forgotten. One only wonders how he felt when later on the Legion would accept Bouncing Boy and, well, Matter Eater Lad to their ranks.

I'll give it a watch because Summer Glau is in it, but even after hearing the premise and seeing the preview I still don't have much interest.

Watching, forgot it was on, actually thought it was on last Thursday.

Summer's hot as ever. How the hell does she have multiple Mercedez et al sports cars though... Blogger, huh?

Let's take Heroes and Kick Ass and mix them together. Throw a little Rob Schnyder in there as The Carrot and we have a hit.

hahahahaha Rob Schneider derp a derpa derpa a derp. Until one day...TA TITTILY TUM!

It's good enough that I'm willing to give it a couple episodes. Only new show I've latched onto in the past 2 years is Human Target, so I could use an addition to my line up.

I didn't think it was too bad. Don't really get all the hate. A few small observations though:

1. Why didn't the kid recognize his dad's voice? He wasn't even doing a Christian Bale Batman voice.
2. That French dude was the worst assassin evar.
3. James Frain makes a great baddie. Liked him in True Blood too.
3. The guy from Pitch Black is pretty cool.
4. If Summer is trying to hide from a bunch of elite mercenaries and be all sneaky and inconspicuous, maybe she should drive something other than a $200k gullwing Mercedes.
5. And of course the whole jumping out of a window and not being a pancake thing. Oh right, his cape really slowed him down and the car broke his fall.

I'll probably watch it again.

I missed that the premiere is on Sunday night. I was doing something else anyway but would have DVR'd it if I had known. Anybody knows if they're going to show this again?

After reading this thread I just deleted it from my DVR without watching it.
Thanks for saving me the time.

I watched the first half of this. It was worse than I expected. The script was just bad and I don't understand why a two hour premiere felt so rushed during the hour I watched. I think they had his origin story wrapped up in like 20 minutes. And then we have to accept that he learns all the circus tricks and masters all those illusions in a couple weeks...also that he can take a epic beatdown and be affected by it less than batman. Make up your mind, does this guy have super powers or not? Sadly it is better written then Heroes, but certainly not good enough for me to actively watch it. It actually has some likable actors in it so its pretty disappointing.

Actually, never mind about the better written then heroes. If you only watched one episode of heroes you might not realize how off the rails that show was and I've only seen one episode of this.

The American version is BEYOND lame. The original was great simply due to the insanity of it all.

no it's not. the food and prep is still quite awesome. the insanity is mildly retained by the ridiculous chairman and his opening antics.

I think the recipes are far better than what you get on the original, owing in part that the ingredients are actually palatable, unlike 90% of what was used in the Japanese original. 😉

they did an episode on shark fin, once. That shit is so insanely illegal.
