NBC's The Cape

I saw a few previews for this show on TV and I thought it looked pretty nifty. I checked out the trailer on YouTube and it looks like it definitely has potential. But then again... so did Heroes 😛.

This airs next Sunday (1/9) with a two-hour premier episode.

Any thoughts?

Nothing against you or this thread, but every preview I've seen looks like it's gonna horrendously suck. Then again, I never was into Heroes or anything, so...

From the same team that brought you Knight Rider reboot and the last two seasons of heroes....

I would rather watch Brideshead Revisited with the wife while simultaneously giving myself a man vs wild style enema....

We have different perspectives on this...it looked to me like it's gonna suck.
Come on NBC...is that REALLY the best you can come up with?

Let's take Heroes and Kick Ass and mix them together. Throw a little Rob Schnyder in there as The Carrot and we have a hit.

Heroes part II?

Did you even read the plot?

The series, set in the fictional metropolis of Palm City, follows an innocent cop who has been framed for a crime he did not commit and then left for dead after he is caught. He is eventually saved by a circus ringleader who prepares him with special abilities to defend himself against his foes. Separated from his wife and son, he tries to clear his name while protecting them from being killed in the event that he should be reported alive. He takes the law into his own hands by taking the guise of his son's favorite comic book hero, The Cape, after he is given a special suit that has unique capabilities.

That sounds NOTHING like Heroes. Sounds more like a SPAWN wannabe.

Summer Glau's in it, so going to give it a chance.

It's NBC though, so don't expect to see more than a quarter season.

Sounds like the Greatest American Hero.

Yup.

That too!

The only chance it has is if it has an AWESOME theme song.

"Look at what's happened to meeeeeeeee
I can't believe it myself...
Suddenly i'm on top of the world..
Shoulda been somebody elseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

You forgot to mention who'll be on this show. :awe:

HBO Spawn Animated was awesome!!! It's just too bad it ended on an unresolved plot point.

Any animated superhero show with doggy-style fucking is OK in my book.

NBC: Why did Heroes fail???? It had superheroes in it---those things are popular!
Writers: Well, we didn't quite know what to do with them, so the story sort of drifted off...
NBC: Well, what superhero has a good pre-written story? We'll just use that!
Writers: Well, Batman is pretty good...
NBC: THAT'S IT! Just change the story around a little bit so we don't get sued, and use that. Here's $10 million dollars.

It's like they are intentionally sucking so that when Comcast officially buys them, Comcast can advertise that NBC sucks less since we bought them.

The only similarity to Batman seems to be the whole no actual superpower thing 😛. Although, I guess you could say the whole Dark Knight plot twist of Batman being framed for Two-Face's murder could count.
