I never said anything about their rights to change their name as they see fit. I am speaking about the pressure to do such a thing. Formed the group in 2006 and were fine with it for 14 years.

It is now the culture to cancel and ban things. Pretty slippery slope in my opinion.

I never felt it was the government doing any of this crap.

Conservatives have been banning things for a couple thousand years. Strange that they all of a sudden have a problem with it.

Joy Division changed their name.
Prince changed his name.
The band "I am the World Trade Center" changed their name for a while post 9/11

Which of those changes would you consider political correctness gone mad?

It was a slippery slope. They tried to ban liberals for years and now the whipped dog has decided to bite the hand that beat it. We create what we fear. The conservative Sieg Heil salute to confederate culture will now become culturally uncouth. The shit namers turn in the barrel to be named shit.

Oh look someone found the new trending term from the right.

He sounds like one of those types who complains about liberal 'cancel culture' and will argue that conservatives never ban anything or engage in boycotts, while mindlessly ignoring that conservative groups have been the leading force of bans and boycotts in the US for decades. Yaknow, like the Parent Television Council trying to control what we're allowed to watch on TV, Franklin Graham & co boycotting Target (or whatever is his boycott du joir), and alt-right idiots on twitter who recently discovered that Rage Against the Machine is political.

Joy Division - Never heard of them.
Prince - As far as I know it wasn't a political thing only a publicity stunt.
The band "I am the World Trade Center" - Never heard of them.

Nope, I think all of that crap is stupid.

@pcgeek11 is a bit of a coward when it comes to the truth. He's great with his rhetoric.

I'll give you an answer. The South wasn't even close to comparison with the German Nazi's. That comparison you tried to make is asinine. The Nazis attempted to eradicate an entire people. The south did wrongly enslave black people and it was wrong. It is however a far cry from killing millions in the horrible conditions in concentration camps.

This is a huge move. They will lose half their fans. Just like the NFL did with the Kapernick scandal. I love that Trump fans love to call everyone snowflakes but they are the people who get their feeling hurt the easiest.
Can't count how many white guys sitting at a bar with a NFL football game on say they will never watch another NFL game. Yea, so committed.

I mean they both thought certain groups of people were subhuman and that it was both necessary and proper to enslave them and have them work to the benefit of white people. In both cases they were so committed to this murderous racism that they burned their countries to the ground fighting to preserve it. They aren’t completely identical, but the Confederacy is the closest thing to Nazism the modern world has seen.

I am proud of you for answering though!

Which is why you've never complained about 'that crap' from conservatives here before, but you're ranting in this thread about liberal 'cancel culture' as though liberals are the only ones who do 'that crap.'

I mean it’s a pretty established playbook. He will say they are not the same and when asked why he will say his reasons are a secret.

You guys are comedians. It doesn't matter what I say with you.

If I say something that disagrees with your opinion or perception you resort to name calling.

If I say something that agrees with your position you ridicule my response and call me a liar.

We have different opinions.

Yeah, because the conditions in the slave quarters were freakin awesome.

There are Lots of Things I've never done in here before... So.

Your definition of ranting seems to be off.

Ranting - to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way; rave:

Speaking my opinion doesn't equal ranting.
