This may get esoteric, but I like to keep this open to anything...

I have a Coleman Lantern that I've used in camping and random power outages for over 25 years, with the same mantles and it never lets me down. Damn, the thing has never needed attention, just flat out works. So I'd like to hear some other sorts of things....
 
How do you keep the mantles from not crumbling? I've replaced 5-6 on my 10 year old lantern.

Not so fast. You are young, dumb, and full of *** now, but I would throw in a few modifiers to keep this statement true until the day you die:

The earth has always rotated around the sun, never failed (and wont for all of our life times).

I've never had a CPU die on me, though I replace them before 10 years. (though I do have a P2 266 that still runs like new).

Carbon hasn't failed me, no matter what I do it always behaves like carbon keeping me alive 🙂
